Roadrunner's delivery and ongoing mod thread

I will be taking delivery of my 9T this Saturday ...she's at the dealer waiting now!

After riding R1150/1200GSA’s over the past 10 years I decided to make the move to sell up the GS and get a Nine T. In July I placed an order for December delivery… 5 months!!! I started to call other dealers and I managed to find a cancelled order at another dealer for a Nine T still in a shipping crate ready for pre-delivery. Done deal! The bike is Jan 2014 production, so must have been sitting crated at the dealer since March.

I pick up the bike on the 26th July with 4km on the clock. The ride home to Sydney will be ~200km on a fantastic riding road called the Old Pacific Highway.

Mods waiting ready are Wunderlich Tidy Tail & licence plate bracket and Bar-end mirrors (drill out to 12mm)... many more mods to follow

I put a deposit down on the 12th July, but dealer showed me an email received from BMW AU the prior day saying deliveries for new orders had moved from Sep/Oct to Nov/Dec.

After calling around I was generally laughed at and told to buy a used/demo if I wanted a 9T before Dec. Then I struck gold

I suggest you call country dealers... I only called about 6 in NSW, but definitely go through the dealer list on BMW Motorrad Australia

Good luck

I'm also impressed Roadrunner.

With the cold and windy weather up here lately it's been awhile since I've been out of the garage. That may change next Wednesday as the riding weather looks very favourable. The Central west looks the go! Peter

Come on mate it can't be too cold to take her out? I rode back in pouring rain yesterday for an hour on new tyres and non wet riding gear.
