Lets talk Motogadget Motoscope Pro for the R9T

I know theres a few threads that touch on this, and I also know theres a few of you on this forum that actually have it.

Can anyone in the USA confirm that there is absolutely NO COMPLICATIONS with the stock ECU and this display in terms of communications, mileage, service, etc?

On one side of the spectrum, I see guys running it and they seem to be fine with it, and then I saw some guy from Qtar stating it was giving him problems with the dealer and the bike not sending back data from it, etc?

Please refrain from speculation if you dont have personal knowledge or experience on this. Id like to know everything there is to know before I part ways with $600 USD!

Thanks in advance to this forum and its members for any insight!

PS, no need to discuss aesthetics, alternate gauges, etc. Thanks!!!!!

When I asked an independent BMW specialist workshop a few weeks ago he said that it would cause issues as the gauge requires the correct signal feedback to the control unit. He said the issues shouldn't affect the engine running in the short term, but would various limit ECU adaptions as mileage can't be calculated.

Thanks for the feedback Roadrunner,

I just put in a call to Revival Cycles to see if they had any additional insight on this. They said they'd email me /call me back. Will report back if I hear anything different. Anyone else?

I saw the guy on FB stating his bike's idle rpm was messed up with the motogadget due to there is no information data sending back to the ECU from the gadget. He went back to BMW dealer and let the technician took a look. They started up the bike with motogadget on, the idle rpm was unstable. Then they switch back to stock gadget, everything went back normal. So he was sure it was the cause.

He said he emailed with Motogadget and got nothing helpful info from them except sending the unit back for refund. Motogadget admitted their gadget won't communicate with ECU and there is no solution so far.

There is no one near me using motogadget so I can't confirm if it will mess up with throttle ECU.

But I did talk to my BMW technician friend, and he said the stock gadget does send back data to ECU.

Thanks for the feedback. I was particularly interested in those of you who actually have the unit.

Have you guys had to go back to your original gauges for any particular reason and if so, have you noticed any discrepancies on how your mileage reflects between the two gauges?
