BoosterPlug and the 9T (discussion and opinions)

Just installed the BoosterPlug on my 9T. I had one on my R1200GSA too.

On the 9T there is a noticeable difference in how smoothly the bike runs and how it seems to rev more eagerly.

Now I can install the Remus headers on the weekend
flarezfx likes this.

I am very interested in hearing your report on the headers/boosterplug combo. A video of the sound would be great too but no pressure or anything

Toying with this idea as well. Any thoughts on how BMW would treat this in regard of warranty? I could see much of an argument why this might cause trouble, but never know with BMW...

I guess you could always take it out before going to the dealer- how much work is the installation? Need to lift the tank, right?

It would greatly depend on your dealer and your relationship with them. If you've ever argued with an insurance company after an accident, that's pretty much how the dealer/BMW corporate warranty repair dialogue goes. If you had serious engine trouble while under warranty and had a booster plug installed, you'd have to be pretty tight with your dealer to have them go to bat for you with BMW. I have a pretty good relationship with my dealer, but still wouldn't perform this mod inside of the warranty period.

Yes, takes 30 mins to install. No way I'm waiting 3 years until my warranty expires to install headers. The BP helps the engine run more smoothly with a richer mix AFR... it is not a performance mod.

If installing catless headers, a richer AFR is a must-do, else the engine will be running too lean. They are already too lean from factory to meet emission standards.

Dealer relationship is key. For example, if you removed your exhaust flapper it could void engine warranty.

Where did you plug it in? I am guessing you bought the 1150 one?
