Only 7K miles on the bike, but it spent it's life on Miami Beach so everything was corroded and faded. I rescued it and am doing a no expense spared resto-mod on it. It will weigh at least 50 lbs less than the way BMW made it.
1998 BMW R1200C (black)
Rims from 2004 model are straight aluminum without chrome plating, powdercoated these black along with the hubs. Added new stainless spokes. As this is a non ABS model, I removed the ABS mounting ring tabs from front hub prior to powder coat. Avon venom tires
R1150R heads so that I can put stainless header pipes and 2-into-1 exhaust because there is NOTHING in the aftermarket for R1200C exhaust. R1150R clutch and flywheel knocks off almost 10 pounds!! R1150R 6 speed transmission!! Magnesium valve covers save a bunch of weight over those cast-iron chrome plated ones!!
New stanchion tubes from Italy (racetech sells them), Wilbers shocks, stripped and polished aluminum fork legs, ABS mounting brackets removed. Powder coated black frame and swing arm. Stainless brake lines and banjo bolts.
