… And that’s how my bike stayed all summer and autumn.
Since the weather turned I’ve hardly ridden. So I’ve had to occupy myself with removing the passenger frame (low level exhaust hanger from eBay) and adding Gilles black and silver foot pegs.

“A thing of beauty is a joy for ever”
It certainly is. My bike same spec as yours, roughly same age, could be a sister bike. How many miles have you done?

Great looking bike! Great taste @GTMartin

I’ve been thinking about a hugger. I have a shock on order and I don’t want it covered in muck once it is installed.

I’ve done 2,900 miles. Not much I know. But all of them were a real joy. How about you?

Hey @AdamB bike looks nice, I think that's one of my favorite paint schemes, I love the way the gold bands accentuate the forks. Got anything else in mind next?

Nice Ride ! Quick question. Who makes that rear fender ? Is it wunderlich ? Do you have any info on it .. maybe it’s just the camera angle or me but it looks like it covers just a bit more of the tire than the others I've looked at. They all seem a bit short of practical for the sake of sport … I appreciate your time Sir …………Blitz

Thank you! Yes - next up is a Wilbers rear shock. Just paid the import charges this morning so hopefully not too long to wait. After that, I’m not sure. I guess the priority will be playing with the shock adjustments, weather permitting.

It is the Wunderlich Wunderbob, it is the version for the Classic / Roadster which is close to the tyre. Link below is to the .De website. The part number might be useful when checking with your local distributor.

I have used the Wunderlich mounting brackets for my fabricated hugger.

The summer just passed was really good for biking. I took every opportunity to get out onto the Yorkshire moors, dales and over to the coast. Nothing off road, but plenty of roads with not much traffic on them. Longer distance touring is planned for this coming summer.

Did you fabricate the full fender because that is exactly what I’m looking for … I need someone who can handle an English-Wheel, I had to sell mine … your fender looks pretty good, why did you go with the bobbed one ?

I wish I had the skill to fabricate the fender. It took me ages to find someone in the UK that had an English wheel and could use it. The guy is a true craftsman.
ETTO Motorcycles | Aluminium fabricator and tank builder

I went with the Wunderbob as it had the most spread out stays for support. Additionally they look good, in my opinion especially painted tank colour.

Yeah I can see it for the bike style … I’m trying to get closer to a bobber but I want to keep the road tires and not go with 16” fatties. $$$$ rims, tires way to much. That full wrap fender is just the ticket for the look I want but with out the major wheel/tire change … I love the way Blitz handles in nice long fast tight steady turns … I don’t want that touched … so I’ll change the look all over the place until it’s starts to effect the handling … I need to look for a “Wanted” billboard here in Dallas and find a shop.. I know of several in Austin .. maybe I’ll start there … uninstalled I’m guessing $600 to $900 USD for the best quality steel full wrap. If it’s a full wrap … it’s going to have to have one more brace than the Wunderlich version that holds up the tail end because if the vibration ever brings the fender in contact with the wheel at speed there could be a big problem. I could fab that up in an evening …. OH well, I’m on the hunt again.
Thanks for the info … I’ll contact the shop ETTO and inquire but I’m sure the hassle cost and shipping will kill that possibility. Sure look good …. BUT so does your shorti-bob too. BeWell and thanks again ……………………………………. Blitz

Is there any benefit to change to a DNA brand filter?
The benefit, as I understand it, is significantly improved airflow in to the combustion chamber. What I don’t understand is (i) how the engine knows to adjust the fuel flow to match it, and (ii) whether the increased airflow comes at a cost, for example perhaps engine wear through less efficient filtering out of dust/dirt?
The DNA filters are washable so you don’t need to replace them like paper filters.
