Good morning all, hope you are all well and staying safe.
I’m in the middle of making my urban GS a road focused ‘urban racer’ and would like to know if anyone had fitted a 17inch front wheel to their scrambler/GS? Do the stock forks take an R9T 17 off a standard bike or do I need to look into a more specialist setup?
cheers

I don’t have an answer but there was discussion linked below but don’t think a definitive answer was reached...

I spoke to the Alpina wheel guys who told me they don't do them to fit mine, but they have a sister company, Joniche.
However .... 1500 euro, each!
So, I'm going to look around and keep searching for an option. A set of used 17inch would do and I see if I can adapt the front to suit.

isn't the front end geometry different on the Urban GS and scrambler? taller suspension 19" wheel, slacker steering......

Yes I think the forks are taller, not by much though. I’m changing the cartridges for Nitrons which I think will be better than stock r NineT anyway. Bikes evolving into a tarmac urban racer that’ll go over lumpy desert tarmac roads and still hustle on the good stuff.

Those are rather sexy. And rather pricey. But I like!
I wouldn't trust that info on that site. It says real overstock OEM parts, but that can't be right as no wheels fit all years of the R nineT. First they are missing the year '14 and there was no change in wheels between '14 and '15. Second there was a change to the wheels and sensor mounts in '17. So any wheels that fit the '17+ bikes don't fit the earlier '14-'16 bikes. Plus I just find it suspect that they list Pure, Racer and Scrambler as '15+.

As such everything on their site needs to be double, triple and quadruple checked against real BMW stock numbers.

Here is a real BMW accessories link with that part number. That only lists them as fitting the K21 (classic), K22 (Pure) and K32 (Racer).
