Just have reading in the new german BMW Moto journal that
the T has only the simple Bosch NONE Integral ABS System.
I was told it has the semi-integral BMW ABS. Who knows more about it ?

If that`s true I would be rather disappointed, for the high price .....
First the tubes and now the retro ABS ..... i realy get sick now ....

And btw. also were telling to produce 15.000 units until 2016.

heuu, only the french version is an integral … translation ? German and italian are without as I can see.

But in France it's also different : ABS En série ABS Intégral BMW Motorrad (partiellement couplé)

It seems to be the same like R1200R

Standard - ABS

From the start in the UK it's been stated on the technical spec sheet from BMW motorrad that the 9T will come with standard ABS ,and not the more expensive and heavier part integral ABS ,IMHO the standard ABS will be more than powerfull enough to hall up the 9T in an emergency situation ,also it's a weight saver and something else not to have to worry about going wrong at a later date :D
I for one will enjoy the 9T specs as they are ,and rejoice the fact that they have built a practical bike with far less electronics and gizmoes to go wrong ,and I'm back in control of the bike rather than its in control :D back to proper riding and how it started :D:D

Hey Georg
Have you now cancelled your order as it's not what you thought it would be or rather as you expected it to be

He had so many problems associated with the electronics that he won't own another BMW, so I agree with you that less electronics may be a good thing. Trouble is not what I'm looking for. I would like a temperature gauge though.

The spec sheet the dealers received in the US, that we all saw on here, says the following.

BMW Motorrad ABS (part integral, can be switched off)
320 mm floating twin-disc brakes, radial four-piston fixed calipers 264 mm single-disc brake, double-piston floating caliper

Ya know what....I think there are enough gear heads on this forum, that we will be able to figure out an elegant solution to the temperature gauge issue, or at least report the solution. Personally, I'm still waiting to see this problem in person, or at least a video or review of a US model (since thats whats relevant to me personally).

If you think this is bad, during a recent Deutsche Bike test the T, it suddenly stopped idling, they couldn't get it re-started so they shook it out of frustration and all they could hear inside the bike was what sounded like broken glass instead of the usual beer sloshing.

really??

comparing my current R1200C 1987

- no ABS
- no oil temp
- no easy-auto-remote-twirl-your-thumb suspension adjust
- no rev counter
- no gear indicator
- no ride-by-wire-gadget-whizzbang-distractions

LOTS OF FUN >>>>> ride-by-ass :p

... my new R9T will do all that, faster, more oomph, wind-in-the-hair (bugs-in-teeth) and without flakey-chrome problems .... aesthetically pleasing, mentally refreshing, peace-of-mind engineering! in short: a wholesomely satisfying package !!! :D:D:D

... just quit whining - or buy the GS already, will ya? most riders wont be able to max out the R9T's abilities anyway .....
