I need a big favor.
I'm kinda leaning toward trading in my 09 Triumph Speed Triple for a Nine T.
But, I'm the kind of person who absolutely won't buy a bike without riding it.
So..... if one of you kind folks lives in my neck of the woods, I was wondering if we could do a little switcheroo ride for an hour or so just so I can see how the bike feels.
I realize this is asking a lot with such a new and desirable bike.
And I don't blame you all in the least if you tell me to go pound sand.
Just thought it'd be worth a try.
Thanks,
Lenny

... what is it you don't like about BMW dealership test rides? There's heaps here on the forum who jumped in with both feet first last year Oct/Nov - unseen - unridden - zero ride reports ... my thoughts? if you need persuading, you probably wont understand it anyway :p
An hour's worth of riding????
7 minutes 22 seconds watching SoulFuel was all it took to get me hooked solidly! Never looked back! But I rode a boxer before ...

if it's all new to you (Boxering) get a R1200R from your local dealership for a test ride for an hour, imagine it without all the frills BUT with more ooomph ....

.... only ONE hour's ride or so .... you're funny! what a lark ....:D :p

Hey huntsman, calm down.
When did I say I don't like BMW dealership test rides?
The problem with that is that every new one that comes into the dealership is spoken for, hence, no test rides.
All I want to know is will I like it more than my Speed Triple.
I can probably figure that out in 5 minutes.
If not, I have no reason being on a good bike any way, right?
The Speed Triple is an awesome bike and the best bike I've ever owned.
I just want to keep moving to better bikes, not just different ones.
I want to make sure I get the same (or better) visceral rush when I hit the throttle on the BMW as from the S3.
I want it to handle better too.
Looks alone aren't enough to justify a new bike for me.
Now, if you could give me a direct comparison between the two bikes, having ridden them both, I would jump in with both feet.

ooops, ok ok ok (I'll take back half of my reply .. hehe) ..... hmmm, can't help ya with comparison cause my previous ride was ultra relaxed on a Beemer Cruiser, so the step up to a near performance-bike was exhilarating for me to say the least! At least that's what it felt like for me, suddenly statements by other riders re "... suspension & tires communicate to the rider ... bla bla bla ..." made heaps more sense - having transferred to reality Ha! :D
other than that, you've gotta find a charitable soul near you .... ;)
