After a careful study, I decided to buy the SMART IAT (air temperature sensor) from the Italian Belinassu (www.belinassu.it).

So a very first feedback: very different feeling...at first it seemed to have lost its "character" but while riding i changed my mind.

At low rpm it is very round (55 kmh in 6th gear without making a fuss) and that helps when "strolling" around.

At high RPM it's much more linear; maybe I preferred it before because I found it more "ignorant" but I have to try it well and not in the 4 corners behind the house (damn red zone).

It's sure that linear power/torque delivery helps a lot in fast corners.

The "lack" I noticed between 4000 and 5000 after installing the Spark MotoGP is gone.

As far now given the affordable price (120 €), the ease of installation (just unplug the orginal IAT sensor and install the modified one into the airbox) and the performances (the manufacturer assured me that the control unit will adapt in the first 1000km and therefore there will be further improvements) I would say that the purchase is strongly recommended.

I checked out the web site, it is in Italian and I used Google Translate.
Plenty of good logic-backed technical information on "tuning" and I am inclined to accept the reasoning on why this device will smooth out the power delivery of the R9T.
Best of all, it is not outrageously expensive.
Is it "plug-and-play"?
I could not find the instructions for it's installation and am guessing that it is a matter of old IAT sensor out and new IAT sensor in.

Anyone (that can communicate in Italian) ready to set up a Group Buy?

Yes Chris, it's "just" a "lift the tank-replace sensor" matter.

Try to contact him in english. In case i can be your "ambassador"
