Hello, I’m repairing an accident damaged bike. Having charged the battery, there’s no indication of power at all. Not even the hazard warning lights are operational. Does anyone know if there’s a pyro fuse in the circuit which may have blown in the accident?

Year and model might not be relevant but then again it might be. A bit of an introduction never hurts, particularly if its your first post and looking for help.
I know my 2015 doesn't have any conventional type fuses, all circuit protection is electronic as the previous poster mentioned. What areas of the bike were damaged and have you worked on? Always assuming that the battery is fully charged and connected correctly then personally I would begin by checking that the central chassis cpu is connected correctly, visually check the wiring under the seat and tank and the ignition switch. There's nothing particularly special about the hazards as to why they should continue to work when nothing else does afaik.
You do have the correct 'chipped' key for the bike I assume? My bike was an insurance write off that I bought at auction and came with two BMW keys but that isn't always the case.

I generally poke around with a ‘power probe’ and back feed any current if I can’t see anything obvious. Something always responds.

How did you confirm that the battery took the charge and is currently fully charged … that’s the starting point. A simple Multi-meter can tell you. If that checks out and it is fully charged, then follow the cables one by one until it goes dead ….. self evident……………………………… Blitz

Hi, thank you for so many people taking the trouble to reply. I have a 2018 Pure which was bought accident damaged without keys. Replacement keys are on order so I’m setting about replacing the damaged parts which, essentially, appears to be just the front forks which have buckled. While the forks are off and being sent off for repair later today, I wanted to explore what else I could do and put the battery on charge with a trickle charger overnight. The battery seemed to respond as a healthy battery should and by morning the charger was indicating that it was fully charged. I then thought that the hazard warning lights should work without ignition being switched on but they didn’t and at that point I decided to consult the forum. It’s almost dawn here in the uk and I’ll try to add a better photo in a few hours. Thank you once again.

I don't think you need to do anything other than wait for the keys to arrive and be coded to the bike. I don't have any experience in this area but I'm assuming that it's possible to get replacement keys without having to buy keys and a matching ignition module.
I've heard that with some bikes its only possible to replace lost keys by changing the ignition barrel and associated electronics .
One thing that I did learn having gone through the process of putting a written off bike back on the road is not to over think things. I had a couple of electrical issues that I assumed were related to the accident damage where ultimately they weren't. I don't think you'll find there's anything wrong electrically, you just need to sort the mechanical stuff out (y)

Hi, I don’t know the history or reason the keys are missing. Thank you for the North Yorkshire welcome (my wife is from Northallerton). There’s no other visible damage having looked over it carefully with the exception of a missing RH rear indicator. I’m hoping the wheel will repair and will fit a new tyre once it’s done.

@stephensykes would you like me to move this thread to the bike Builds section, then you can update this thread as needed regarding the (re)build process and ask any questions about the bike that you need to without worrying if the post is in the correct forum section?
