I just read about the BMW Fuel Pump Recall. Apparently, bolts on the fuel pump were over torqued. Affects a lot of BMW models, see list below.

Under this recall, BMW will replace the fuel pumps with an “improved version”. All repairs will be carried out free of charge.

Dealers have already been notified of the recall program. BMW will commence notifying owners of the affected bikes on April 02, 2021.

Looks like not all 2014 R9Ts are affected. I put my VIN in and nothing came up.

Thank you very much. Strange but 1 the owner of the notification did not come when I wanted to send a review letter. However I I read the full guide and found it in the Epicvin system when I was reading car safety features

I personally would not wait for the recall letter. I would contact your local BMW dealer or call the 1-800-525-7417 to start the process to get the fuel pump replaced.

I’m a second owner and received a letter a couple days ago.

Perfect timing!!! Got my letter today! About one month ago the bike started idling very rough and shutting down on start up unless I gave it a little bit of throttle for a few minutes. Also a very strong smell of fuel. There was also a knocking sound of sorts. The bike is just been sitting in the garage as I was afraid to ride it and was planning to get to the dealer at some point. Now I’m sure it’s the fuel pump as the recall letter says if you smell strong fuel you could have the issue.
