BMW is turning around big time with their new decade of motorcycles. The Nine-T is going to carry them even further.
+1 on that point M&M,it's stepped forwards in a big way in 2004 when the new revamped GS1200 came out ,and made a massive hole in the bike sales market worldwideMaking motorcycles with reasonable power, excellent drivetrain, real comfort and usable luggage is exactly what most people need today, and that's what BMW is doing.
Promo vids sound good with shotgun can ,it uses the exhaust valve from the GS twin cam and is far more rorty than any akro even with the baffles removed so you shouldn't be to disappointed Boxer 66BMW have certainly ticked the boxes in a lot of areas but one area which affected my decision when I bought my last bike was the exhaust note...
I wanted the R1200r but when I heard it...gotta say dissapointment set in even with the Akrapovic...
I'm hoping the 9T has a great exhaust note![]()
Happy I'm not the only fool to order the nineT after selling all the comfort needed on GSA with öhlins front&rear.+1 on that point M&M,it's stepped forwards in a big way in 2004 when the new revamped GS1200 came out ,and made a massive hole in the bike sales market worldwide, and has been making massive sales ever since on all styles of bikes.
Thanks to these success figures over the years they have come up with after their concept idea and 5 years in the making something a little special for all us purists to enjoy![]()
absolutely... well putMaking motorcycles with reasonable power, excellent drivetrain, real comfort and usable luggage is exactly what most people need today, and that's what BMW is doing.
that actually isn't true in BMW's caseI would like to see the breakdown between Scooters and Moto. TBH I feel the main sales driver is people downsizing to scooters from small cars...
I'm just going of a quip in automotorblog:that actually isn't true in BMW's case
i'll try to find the data.... but, we are talking about REAL MOTORCYCLES in this case
but yea would love to see the full data if you can find it ClearwaterWith the year still not over, BMW reports say that they have sold 101.530 motorcycles and maxi scooters up to and including the month of October
maybe they are HIDING SOMETHING...I'm just going of a quip in automotorblog:

you are correct. Also, the world economy is in the crapper and people who buy Japanese sport bikes might be those most affected. Since there is a law of conservation of money on this planet and well-heeled people look towards BMW to find their two wheeled entertainment it is unlikely the ROUNDEL will have any ill effects from the economy. In fact it ought to get a boost in sales which is exactly what is happening.BMW is one of the lone bike makers that has some restraint when designing its bikes. I am not a fan of the overdone sports bikes that the Japanese brands make. I like something that is slightly more subtle, but still high end and powerful. Most of those sales don't even include the nineT's numbers. So it should only grow bigger by the end of the year.
