So when push comes to shove how many of you will actually make use of the rear seat? Or will you scrap it and have nothing at the back to even bother with. Another solution is to get the seat cowl to have a continueous flow with the hump.

Single seat

Ready for mount

Keeping it old school

Which one will you go with?

I guess I'm a little biased, having had a Thruxton with a seat cowl for two years...
I prefer the dual seat, for a more simple, roadster look.

However, I do think the bike looks elegant with and without. Not a huge fan of the chopped single seat.

As much as I want to go with the cowl it only makes sense to have the duo seats in case my wife wants to come along for the wife.

If I had a choice the cowl definitely for the looks but for functionality the duo seat will do for me ;)

Also, if your wife dumps you for buying another motorcycle, you will have room for the new girlfriend.
exactly, there's plenty of fish in the sea, while you might lose your current one by buying the R NineT, you'll get many more with the NineT......chicks dig a guy that rides a cool bike, of course that would be us.

Are we missing the point a bit here? Couple of bolts and you have a passenger pillion for that occasional two-up, couple bolts again and its back to cowl time...and I'm not sure, but from the photos I've been looking at, it looks like the cowl could just fit right over the pillion seat.

Both

It looks very custom and cool without the rear seat, but you also need the seat if your going to load it up with any kind of bag ,so buy both options as pillion seat comes as standard and then buy the kit from BMW to make it a single seater it's only 8 bolts to remove the pillion section ,ride it custom until you need to travel :D
