I like it but the exhaust end can is ugly and the moulded seat looks wrong.
The version with the floating seat looks better.
An aftermarket set of straight pipe would look ace.

I think it looks kind of cool...but not with the exhaust that looks like a python that swallowed a gazelle.

Except for the ugly exhaust, it fits the mold of s minimalist cruiser design.
Though, from a "heritage" perspective, BMW largely built bikes with a bias towards the "functional" rather than "cruiser".

Exactly. Proper Bobber. All black. No ape-hangers.

The 'bobber' on the left has something. I'm not sure what. Size of course. Bragging rights. Closest in lineage to the R5. The design is growing on me.

The remainder, well, without wishing to offend fellow members who might be into this kind of thing, they are Hippos. Cut n 'paste comedy motorcycles. Second from the left has the back end from a metric cruiser, the ape hanger version on the right.. dear God, what were they thinking?

The engine is totally out of proportion to the rest of the bike, like some German porn star with ridiculous boobs, the exhaust is in a different time zone to the front wheel. But maybe this is BMW with a sense of humour. 'Because we can'. I kind of appreciate it from that perspective. A cartoon. It's surreal.

One thing they did nail is the running line from headstock to rear axle. That works. And the Bobber does give more than a passing nod to the R5.

I had a deposit down since last summer. Was disappointed in the final version at first, but it's growing on me. Bobber package is a must for me. The tapered pipes too. I'd like to see a picture with the chrome beach bars.

If the marketing strategy of BMW is aimed at the cruiser crowd then they’re gonna need to put a small to medium set of ape hangers tilted way back. A custom sissybar with cushion back rests and a set of highway pegs up high in front of those huge cylinders. That would at least allow you to kick back comfortably and cruise. Otherwise riding in that position for hours at a time just isn’t going to help the sale. I think with out the ability to stretch out ...this beautiful machine is going to die on the vine. I wouldn’t exchange my 9T for one nor would I buy one outright, except maybe to pull a boat to the lake. I would like to see what a good custom fabshop could do with that engine in a reverse trike set up. Some set up in which you could stretch out. What a bike that would be. And that muffler has got to go. Who thought that would win hearts and influence people, wrong ! Blitz

Those mufflers are probably needed to meet emissions regs.
Plus, with the length of it I think it will need rear wheel steering to get round some of the tighter corners. ;)(y)

I like it much better in person.
I'm 5' 9" so the foot controls don't bother me at all.
But the hand controls make me want longer arms

It is really cool in person though, gotta say I'm pondering ...
