I went a bit simpler. Bought a pair of RedWing Heritage, 2990's. I had the sole replaced with a moderate lugged Vibram sole, for grip on the pegs, brake, etc. My youngest daughter said they make me look like a thug LOL.

red wing boots are amazing, i think they will replace the sole for free once it wears out. it's a true long term boot

Cost me $75 to get the special sole, but the smoother sole they had I didn't think was appropriate for the Bike. The leather on the boot was so cool though, I couldn't resist buying them and spending the extra bucks. And they fit me extremely well, and were so comfortable.

... hard to go past BMW Santiago boot for comfort, waterproof & longevity. Can be resoled too (by competent cobblers)
I ride BMW touring boot .... very happy .... would trade up to a Santiago in a jiffy once these ones wear out ...( wont wear out though ;))

Got 'em today. Outstanding quality, great fit. The boots feel lightweight, yet very solid.

Lacing is a pain in the butt like mentioned earlier in this thread, but hey, you can't have it all...

Definitely a recommendation to buy. :)
