Fun day yesterday. Had to go slow on the factory suspension. Still tons of fun. I didn't check but would guess between 40-50 miles of dirt.

Wow! Looks like a great ride, gene_apodaca. Where are you, if you don't mind telling? Looks spectacular.
This was in New Mexico, South and West of Santa Fe. Fairly low elevation for the state at about 6k feet. The clouds were of a heavy rain storm further West that never left the mountain range it was pummeling luckily for me. I live in Albuquerque which is about 60 miles South, but I found dirt paths for quite a bit of it and spent almost 8 hours on the bike yesterday (Monday). I read recently New Mexico has almost 3 times the miles in dirt roads as paved so getting a dirt capable bike seemed almost necessary after reading that. Not that I'll ever give up my K1600GTL though. Just opening up more horizons. I'll post many rides I take in the future. New Mexico is very scenic.

That's where I was thinking - looks familiar to me for some reason. Amazing big sky! Enjoy your Scrambler.

Gene, great pics, but unfortunately they must have sold you a Commonwealth version. Everything is on the wrong side: the exhaust, the side stand, it‘s leaning to the wrong side, even your license plate is confusing! Have your trusted BMW dealership make it right.😉

Great photos! 👍

That's why!! I couldn't figure out why it was all on the wrong side. I thought it may have been built for the Southern hemisphere. Or maybe left-handed operators.

Guess you could ride it on the wrong side in exotic places like the UK or New Zealand. Even Japan or South Africa.
But how would you greet oncoming traffic then?!? Better have them fix it!

I've learned over the years that if you're the wildest person on the road, other motorists tend to give you a bit of room. Kind of like a policy of not messing with a naked crazy person.

That was exactly it. My phone's camera was on its last leg and would only work in selfie mode. I've since replaced it so my motorcycle once again looks like it was built for the Northern hemisphere. I am left handed and didn't see any real benefit to a starboard leaning bike anyway. ;)

Very jealous. My bike is currently blocked by a foot of snow in front of the garage. No prospect of riding under blue skies in warm temps for at least 4 months.

Dave, I thought you are a ski instructor!
What’s wrong with riding on (any color) skies in Switzerland?!?

And since you're a ski instructor, I have to wonder why you haven't yet fitted a ski to your motorcycle. I'm almost 100% certain Switzerland sells chains for motorcycle tires. I mean, what's the holdup?

Well this would violate my 'I don't ride unless it's at least 10°c rule'

@Norbi turns out that both of my daily pairs of skis are also black like my bike. Remind me to post at some point about the perils of turning a passion into a business.
When I'm skiing for 6months of the year, all I can think about is biking. I guess you always want what you can't have.

I suppose if you have a trials bike, you don't really need chains.
