@Spoon @RS89

Sheldon, Ryan, We really appreciate the kind words. I can't tell you how great it feels when you can hear that something that we've put so much time and care into is well appreciated by others. We do really thank all of you guys that have purchased a unit as well, I'm really happy that we can satisfy you all with good parts that also make your bikes look fantastic.

@fussybadger

We haven't finalized pricing yet on that guy. Without turn signals we don't think it will be too much but we haven't gotten a final wholesale quote for the signals we'd like to package with it. Thankfully we were able to find all the connectors we need which has been huge!

Also, that's a wonderful avatar photo

I’d just like to add some European requirements, I’m in Germany and mods are a nightmare here.

Firstly, integrated indicators are illegal, the rear indicator lenses need to be a minimum of 18cm apart. (Bar end indicators cannot replace rear indicators.)

So in Europe generally a separate indicator solution and a tail/brake LED strip would be great.

… but unfortunately it doesn’t stop there. The light needs to have an E-marking. This means one of the EU countries needs to homologate the LED strip for use as a rear/brake light on a motorcycle … then it’s legal everywhere in Europe.

The E-Marking looks like this …..

… is it possible to source an E-Marked LED strip that functions as a tail/brake light?

The consequences for fitting your light (in Germany) are as follows.

If caught with a non-approved light it’s a €20 fine. Get fined for the same thing 3 times and it’s a driving ban.

Have an accident with a non-approved light and you will bear a proportion of the responsibility for the accident, simply because you have an illegal bike and it shouldn’t be on the road – if it wasn’t on the road, there wouldn’t have been an accident.

If the illegal part actually contributes or is thought to have contributed to the accident, then you need a very good lawyer and deep pockets.

Any chance you could work on an EU legal version of your excellent product?

Hi Munich! We've definitely heard your concerns before, and know how the road laws in Germany are (though they have their upsides). As such, we've looked in to TÜV certification, and it is by no means a unobtainable goal. We have develop a variant of our tidy that has external signals, and meeting all other road law requirements.

The only thing remaining would be to send the unit and the light in for certification. It isn't a quick process, and we have to consider if the effort required can be justified by meeting that particular market (sadly it seems most other NineT'ers have settled for a certain other tail tidy already). We hope we can have something out sooner rather than later (or at all). If we get enough feedback to prove it worth the effort you can definitely expect a certified version!

Mit freundlichen Grüßen,

Ian

Any update on the all in kit for US bikes?
We're still working on the external turn signal version. We might have to make some changes to the design as the prices we've received from our machining contractors have been too high. Sorry for the delay on this.

Any news on the version with external turn signals? Would we be able to use the BMW signals or are we better off using something else?
We are actually designing it with the intent on using the motogadge m-blaze pin. Small but super bright, we think the best looking turn signals to accompany our kit. The nice part about us picking turn signals is that we can have it wired/turn key. If we were to sell just the brackets, you would have to wire the signals yourself (which is certainly an option).

Other than that we are still looking into how we can make these so that they still look great and function well, but also don't cost an arm and a leg to manufacturer/sell.

@Rems That's pretty awesome! We've sold a decent number to a French outfit which definitely helps in our international outreach.

That being said, it's still exciting seeing it up like that; we hope we can really push a lot of these all over the globe. Certainly a good amount of nine T's being sold outside of the US!

The quality and craftsmanship of this product is second to none. If you are on the fence about whether or not to purchase the tail tidy, based on price. Let me tell you, it is worth every penny.

Thanks @Euclid! quality is absolutely something we strive for and we're happy to hear when our customers appreciate our hard work!

Also, if you install the small 2 hole spacers, it'll eliminate that gap in the rear seat! If you have any questions about how to install that let me know, we'll have some photos up soon here with a quick tutorial for that.

I would love to know where to install those. I am wondering what those are for.

@sodajones

I can't confirm if it would fit or not. I'm familiar with the kit but have not yet seen one in person. From what I can tell, it uses the same mounting holes we use to mount our tail tidy, threaded holes on the rear of the frame. Our kit fits the contour of the frame, I don't see any reason why, with some different fasteners to go through both pieces, why it wouldn't fit.

I have an important questions, because I am very interested.

1. Can I switch between stock cowl and the Pillion seat as easily as with the original? or you need to make adjustments every time the change is made?

2. it is possible to put turn signals?

3. It is compatible with the installation of the rear OEM BMW Bag?

Hey Milton,

getting back to your questions!

1. You can swap between the two, I do quite frequently so my girlfriend can ride along :D. However, we include an optional spacer to minimize the gap if the passenger seat is mounted. For reference, euclid has the passenger seat on without the spacer, and the gap is still quite minimal. But we pay attention to all the details, so the spacers there for those who want it (I certainly do!). It's not much more work to put on either, just unscrewing two bolts and installed the spacer.

2. At present, additional signals are not possible with our pre-wiring. We're working on a external signal solution to meet german TUV standards.

3. There's nothing conflicting about installing the OEM Tail Bag, so you're all clear on that!

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Ian
