I was asking myself witch bike the designers of BMW had on their mind when they started designing the Nine T ?

I would not be surprised they had some of these pics on their moodboard:

i was hoping the final design would be much closer to the concept, which isn't not, but at least it's still retro enough without looking too old school.

such a classy bike, i always loved them. photo below is a good example of how amazing they look

They're gorgeous. I think Ducati was a little bit ahead of the times when they launched them. They didn't sell well and they stopped production in 2009.

I think the picture you posted is of the Sport Classic. Here's the bike I was referring to, part of the same series.

I like the BMW better, but it reminds me a lot of the GT1000.

I think that most people are a bit disappointed that the nineT doesn't look more like the concept, but the nineT isn't bad at all. It just isn't very close to the concept.

he good news is that the bike is meant to be worked on, so we will see plenty of awesome looking nineTs once people have some time with the bike.

I think we all should just forget the concept and focus on the R NineT, either you love it or hate it. Maybe one day they will release something closer to the concept, maybe even a more powerful version of the NineT.
