Like all motorcycle/gear junkies, I ordered my Daedalus Minima Tidy with Club S turn signals way before my new R Nine T arrived. After having the bike for a mere 48 hours, I was able to successfully get the old tail structure off and install the new Minima in a little under an hour. All in all a very easy procedure and one that really enhances the look of the bike. Next up for me will be to remove the rear pillion structure and modify the exhaust with a high pipe... At least I think that is what is next.

The only issue with the bike so far is it seems to be throwing the 'low fuel' warning even though the tank is full. I will have to have that looked at when I go back later this month to get my Billet pack installed. I must say, this bike is a hoot to ride and quite the difference from my big ass GSA.

Cheers,
G-

Looks stunning. I love how you didn't blur out the license plate like a ton of people (nonsensically) do. Sweet spec. What exactly did you order from the Billet catalogue? If it's a new bike why didn't you order them new? I think you save a TON of money getting it built in Berlin with the shiny bits.

Thanks, and yes, I don’t really worry about privacy too much anymore. Seems it is all gone anyway. As for the Billet packs, I did order them, but somehow the factory messed up or their was a shortage and they did not install them. They have agreed to ship them to my dealer and cover the installation so I should have more shiny bits come the end of the month. It should be both of the billet packs that are available when ordering the bike.

When I get those installed I am going to have them remove the pillion frame to get ready for a different slip-on. I really want to see the rear wheel which I can’t with the dual cans that come stock. So many good options out there…..

Second set of Mods plus a bit of warm weather

I finally got my Option 719 billet pack installed along with the subframe removed. Super happy with how this is turning out. I still am not happy with the mirrors and would like to go with a single muffler like the Akrapovic or even the Jeckyl & Hyde (although stupid expensive…). Would love opinions. Happy Holidays to everyone no matter where you are… Excited to spend the next 3 months in Fernandina enjoying the warmer weather.

Looking good! And I'm very, very jealous of having good riding weather. Here in NE Ohio I am pretty much done riding for the next few months.

Are you unhappy with the mirrors because they aren't wide enough to see past your shoulders, or just not digging the looks of them?

If it's the former, I'll say that I added a set of Evotech Performance mirror extenders, and they've made a huge difference. They look a little funky at first, but soon you don't even notice it.

If it's the latter, I think more than half R9T owners end up swapping to bar-end mirrors, both for looks and functionality. I tried a set, and they looked cool, but I had an issue with one of the mirrors and ended up going back to the OEM set, but with the aforementioned extenders.

As for the exhaust, there are many options, but if you're shopping for a new one make sure you're looking at cans spec'd for 2021 and newer R9Ts, as the pipe fitting apparently changed. (You might know that already, but I thought I should mention it.) I have an SC-Project Conic exhaust (in titanium) on my Pure and love it. With the removable baffle in it's only a little louder than the stock single can my Pure came with, but has a slightly deeper tone, and it saved several pounds of weight compared to the stock steel can. It also sits just slightly higher than the stock can did, showing off the rear wheel a bit more, and sits high enough I don't have to loosen or remove the exhaust to remove and reinstall the rear wheel - a big bonus in my opinion.

The Option 719 billet pack looks good, I should have got it when I specced the bike. Did they let you keep the parts they took off? :)
No, it was BMWs mistake that the parts did not come with the bike. As such they treated it like a warranty job, installed the new parts and kept the old ones.

Thanks for the response. For the mirrors it is primarily a looks thing. I love some of the bar end options and will definitely give them a try. As for the muffler it is two fold. First I would love a bit deeper note but equally I want to be able to use my pit bull reatraint system when traveling so I need a pipe configuration that is a bit higher in order to have clear access to the axle.

as for weather, I lost my Maine riding a couple of weeks ago but am now down in Florida for a couple of months.
Cheers!

Hey @GlennC, is that an OEM exhaust hanger? I could assume it is as you got the bike kitted out with option 719 stuff, but you mentioned you removed the subframe so thought you might have gone third party with the hanger?

It would have been cheaper to go third party but I had time constraints so I let the dealer order it. Paid a premium for that but oh well… Next time I will buy the parts myself and just pay dealer for labor. Unfortunately I don’t have space to do any major work myself .

Nicely spec'd bike, my personal advise would be to plan on upgrading the suspension and the seat before spending any money on anything for looks--changes the whole bike for the better!

Thanks. I have not looked into any suspension changes, so I will have to take a look at that. As for the seat, I actually have one of those weird rear ends that largely finds BMW seats comfortable. Cheers, G-

I want to say thanks for now sending me down the suspension rabbit hole….:D
