Fitting S1000RR forks to the nineT

Picked up a set of forks from a 2014 for a good price. The one problem is that the speed sensor clamp does not fit into the space it is supposed to go into. The holes line up but it doesn't sit flush. It looks like with a small amount of grinding of the bracket it will fit but I wanted to know if anyone had done this mod and what their solution was. Thanks

S1000RR forks look like this:
Bicycle part Rim Carbon Air gun Auto part

I looked at the photos of your bike.It does have the s1000rr forks.

Thanks @Dirtmerchant , I'm hoping to solve fot two things, stiffening the suspension, but also adding adjustability to my '14. The stock springs in the s1000rr are just a little stiffer according to the specs, the adjustable valving and pre-load feel like the big win for me. I'm hoping to be able to use the lowers and internals in the existing gold tubes. The gold fork tubes appear to be interchangeable. I'll know for sure soon.

I did this upgrade, it was really straight forward took around two hours. Look online or buy from a dealer the correct abs sensor for the forks. You have to lift the tank to disconnect the old one and connect the new one.

Agreed. For me it was a significant upgrade over the non-adjustable OE fork on my '14 Classic. I'm sure I could have gotten to a similar result with the OE fork by changing springs and oil viscosity, but this is a pretty plug and play operation and you get adjustability when you're done. The S1K fork I found came with the ABS sensor, which was nice, but I found it was actually less work to simply grind away a small amount of metal on the original sensor to allow it to fit into place. You don't need to take much metal from the sensor mount, and when you're done, it will continue to fit both the OE forks and the S1K forks.
Might be a dumb question, how can I verify if I have S1000RR forks on my R9T? Previous owner mentioned there was a swap, and I have no idea to tell. Are there any obvious indications, or would I need to disassemble to check the internals?
you will see adjusters on the top of the fork as well as the bottom.

Was wondering, would it be worthwhile to get a cartridge kit with springs to freshen up the forks? Something like below, or is it better to Ohlins? Considering my forks are probably from 2014 (or older), I'd think they'd be due for some maintenance or refreshment?

@ck_R9T IMHO, if you are going to buy cartridges for the S1RR forks just put aftermarket cartridges in your stock 9T forks. You save the money of buying the used RR forks and modifying them and they are set up for your weight.

I had Traxxion Dynamics AK20 cartridges put in my stockers and super happy.

Thank you for the reply @Dirtmerchant

My bike already came with S1RR Forks. Was thinking I could get ahead of any required maintenance and change out the internals. What'd you think if I already have the forks?

I'd say it depends on your weight with gear on and how many miles on them. Based only on what I have read, if you are over 200lbs with gear, you may want to have them changed out for your weight. If they are sprung well for you but have a lot of miles you may want to change the fork oil, otherwise I'd probably leave them alone...
