For those that have rec'd their bikes, can you give me the diameter of the gold part of the forks. I would like to get a mount made. Thanks

Same as the S1000RR - 46mm.

Not to sound too dumb but does the 46 mm refer to the gold part or the sliding part (chrome part). The reason I ask is that on my daughter's new Bonneville the fork is listed as 41 mm it is the sliding part that was 41 whereas the part the chrome slides into is 50 mm. The reason I know this is I bought a 41 mm clamp to mount lights on the fork and needless to say it didn't come close to fitting.

ok, so the dial on my calipers is broken (of course), but a manual reading looks to be an OD of 54mm. it actually looks to be a fraction short of 54mm, but I believe that reading may be a product of the broken caliper dial...sorry...

Thanks for the info, in searching about the 1000rr forks the techmount clamp for that fork is a 55 mm size. I will double check next week when I get the bike.
