After having been able to sit on the R9T for the very first time last friday I've noticed that I am not very happy with the shape and look of the handlebars. To me the silver (coating?) looks somewhat cheap and the cranking of the handlebars is kinda strange. Not sure how else to put it, guess you have to sit on the bike and find out for yourself...

Looking for options I stumbled over the LSL Flat Track bar, a design I always liked on earlier Harley Davidson XR models. Not sure how they would look and feel on the R9T though...

Opinions please... :)

Bonsey, those aftermarket bars won't fit. As far as I can tell from photos, the NineT appears to come with taper bars...fat in the middle, normal diameter at the levers.
Motocross bikes typically use taper bars, and come in many styles.

The one you've chosen is not good.

The bar you need has to be conical, this means the size is different in the middle (larger) and thinner at the bar ends and grips.
LSL has conical bars, like Rizoma and other ones.

They are not flat in the middle, what means you can turn them front or back-wise to change the position. This is what i've done on the R1200r with a Rizoma black bar.

Be careful: the looks of a bike can change dramatically with another bar.
And when you chose a lower bar, you might damage the tank when full turning.

I'm sure if we are all patient there will be plenty of after market handle bars to choose from.

I think that you would need to observe what you are saying about the handle bars in person because I don't see much wrong with them from the promo shots.

I have European (low) sidecar bars on my '68 R60/2 mit sidecar. They are the same shape as the '73-'75 R90S. I have an extra bar, and it may be just what the Dr. ordered. I find the shape of the R90S and R100RS bars a good fit. I also have the bars from my long gone '94 K1100RS, which I also found very comfortable.

A fellow soon-to-be 9T rider was kind enough to measure the handlebars for me when he had the chance to examine the bike at his local dealer.

The BMW handlebars are 820mm in total width and 28,6mm in diameter in the middle. So I went ahead and ordered the LSL Naked Bike handlebars Type X02. Should fit perfectly with a way better look, at least in my opinion...

These Kellermann LED turn signals were under the christmas tree 2 weeks ago, so, I got parts flying in left and right with no bike to mess around with for at least another 2 1/2 months. Sucks...

Which is kinda funny. Kuz lord knows there's a whole lotta folks needing arresting there for more than handlebars. LoL.
