My 9T is being shipped through Haulbikes.com and it has been a horrible experience. They are so hard to get a hold off. Don't return my emails. Don't return my phone calls. Every single pickup they said was wrong. My bike is supposed to be delivered tomorrow and I have not been able to contact anyone at the company for a week. There door-to-door hassle free delivery wont even come to my house. This entire experience is so frustrating and stressful. I should be excited about my new bike, not pissed off the stupid trucking company is full of lies.

I encourage no one to use them.

Good to know. Next month I need to ship my bike from Hanover NH to San Francisco; I need to start looking into shippers/options now.

Can anyone recommend a good shipper?

I think the cost is probably relevant. What did you pay, and how did it compare to prices you were quoted with other companies? I only ask because for some, the lack of customer service, potential delays, and other inconveniences would be acceptable trade-offs for moderate to substantial savings. Sorry about your bike though, I hope you are able to take delivery tomorrow as planned.

Someone finally replied to my emails. After a long string they had to find my bike and now they are saying its gonna be another 3 weeks because the truck broke down. I am so very pissed and they don't seem to care at all.

I used keyboard motorcycle to ship my Bonneville from Maine to Nola in 07. I used shipsbikesright to get my r nine from Cali to Tx. I recommend both. Shipsbikes had great communication and they give you a pick up and delivery date once they get their pickup/drop offs all scheduled. Not like some companies that tell you it will be sometime in this 2 week range and we'll call you when it's a couple days out.

You're in bend. I recommend that you go brewery hopping. That'll make you feel better.

Seriously though. Hope this crap gets worked out for you. I know I would be pissed too. I would have to go brewery hopping.

Thanks Innominate.
Sounds like you have been here. There is a bunch a good local breweries. :eek:ccasion14:

Marijuana is also legal, recreational and medical use. So we have a lot of drunk and high people roaming around. Good beer, good weed and all I can think about is getting my bike. hehe

I used Federal and a friend used Haul Bikes, both times the bikes got there. Big difference is Federal has better insurance and customer service. Haul Bikes had a steep deductible and were a little loose with the shipping info, Federal had no deductible and you could track the shipping. Both would deliver within the same time frame but Federal provided the most confidence in safe delivery. You get what you pay for!!!

I've been looking into shippers and finally decided to tow my bike from NH to CA by myself in a UHaul 6x12 enclosed cargo trailer.

Cost of renting the trailer is ~$800 and I have 10 days to drive it across the country. I will be towing with a new 4Runner I bought last week and am looking forward to the road trip.

As this is a full move I was going to have to pay $2K to ship a UHaul container filled with other stuff (clothes, furniture, etc.) but now I will be able to load all of that into the UHaul with my bike and, in doing so, save a couple grand!

Also, the peace of mind from doing it myself, and making sure it's done right, is priceless.

This is probably always going to be the best option when possible.

I once sold a bike and they picked it up ... Driver called me several times trying to find my not-too complicated address (what, they don't use smart phones or or gps?) and then he was rude when he finally showed up.
