Hi!

I just joined the group after making a reservation for new new 23’ Pure. The bike should be delivered sometime this February.

Being a typical millennial I was looking for the modern classic style and was also considering the Triumph Street Twin and Scrambler 900’s. I landed with the Pure after falling in love with the boxer engine on a quick test ride. I have been stalking the site for info on the bike before purchasing and some of the info helped me during my test ride, like pulling in the clutch twice to slip the bike from neutral to 1st.

Thanks!

Welcome @austinw6793
Bob's is a great dealership! I would visit them if I didn't have to fight even more NOVA traffic. Morton's is my home base. Venture out to the valley sometime for some Virginia hospitality.
NOVA traffic sucks! I'll definitely be heading down there because we have family down in Lynchburg. I plan on riding some of the Blue Ridge Highway while I'm down!

Haha I've passed by there several times on my way down to Lynchburg. I was looking at another forum where you mentioned a coffee thread! I'll be following that thread for good ideas when I make the next trip down!

Belated welcome as well from another Baltimore rider. Bob's is great, heading there on Saturday and I'll be checking out the new Franchise. Guessing BobsBMW will need to be BobsMotorcycles or add BobsDucati.
Thanks!! You called it as Bob’s is now Bob’s Motorcycles. As a local rider do you have any favorite routes around?

I take MD-26 from Eldersburg to Libertytown then north on MD-550 through Thurmont continuing on to Cascade toward the old Fort Ritchie. Then right on Camp Rithie Road toward Blue Ridge Summit, PA. An interesting diversion to see High Rock for scenic views is soon after making the right make a left on Pen Mar High Rock road, follow it to the end and you will be at High Rock. Camp/Fort RIticie Road ends at PA-16 (Buchanon Trail East), turn left. Make a left on Midvale Road. At the MD/PA line Midvale turns into Ringgold Road. Make a left on Smithsburg Road (MD-64) continue on and then make a left on MD-77. MD-77 will take you back to Thurmont. The Blue Ridge Smmit area has lots of fuel stops and places to eat. The old Fort Ritchie is a nice diversion, it would be more meaningful if you read up on its history first. Once in Thirmont you can come back the same when as MD-77 and MD-550 intersect just outside of town. If you stay on MD-77 eventually becomes Middleburg Road, then Uniontown Road. Uniontown Road leads you into Westminster. Thurmond has some traffic, Blue Ridge Summit has traffic, but not much, and of course so does Westminster. The rest of the route has light traffice and you can enjoy the ride and views. MD-77 goes through the Catoctin Mountain Park and past Cunnigham Falls State Park.
Gene,

Thanks for the heads up on the route! I'll have to check it out, sounds like a full day of riding!!
