Hi, Pete from SouthWest UK.

Ordered the day after Eicma announcement, been to dealership and specced with alarm to be fitted from factory, been given an expected delivery date of 15th March 2014.

Been following the RSD concept since it was announced and it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that this bike would be in my garage.

Currently riding a 1983 R80 RT custom and a 2002 Honda VTR 1000 SP2.

Really looking forward to all the customisation this modern bike allows, and keeping the BMW heritage I've come to enjoy from the R80.

Cheers

Pete

Welcome from North Carolina, Pete.

Your R80 custom looks very nice. Makes me a little sad that I sold mine off just a month or so ago.

Of course, I've only got room for one bike...and the nineT looks like it will fit perfectly!

welcome aboard supertramp! I love those R80s, I was actually trying to buy one off the hot dog vendor down the street from my office about a month before the NineT broke cover, but I told him now he can keep it ;)

Hey guys, well I dropped of the forum for a while as we all procrastinated about random stuff.
In the meantime I prepared both my R80 and SP for sale, sadly. One of my largest attractions to the 9T is the fact I see it as a cross between both of my bikes, and with working away quite a bit I haven't had time to enjoy both for ages. (plus a bit of pressure off the missus stating the obvious point we don't have room for 2, let alone 3!)

I remember @rkevwill asking for some pics of the R80 a while back and never posted any, so here are some leading up to before I sold her to a good friend.

And then Just before I sold it I finished off what I always intended, painting the legs, bottom yoke and headlight shell satin black.

It looked great and was an emotional send off. At least my friend has it, so the dear little thing can follow me round on the 9T in April.
