I smell fish...... this fish is not fresh.

If it had been an ecu that was new or that they could not tune, how did the dyno run show a 20bho ish increase and better torque after the software was “loaded”?

Emailed and no response, called, someone answered and promised a call back. Never happened. This was done in late 2017, and discovered early last year after riding identical bikes back to back.

Full hex dump of the ECU shows everything is stock, and the front wheel turning is smoke and mirrors, that excuse was used with an F800 that had no front wheel sensor, so how would the magical software know the front wheel was turning?

I am writing my cash off, but am on a mission to make sure others don’t get suckered in. The Hex dump, not done by Treetop BTW, is a good indicator and then full data logging and back to back dyno runs with an identical bike should be comprehensive enough proof.

PS, I’ve read your posts on TRC and I am convinced you are actually one of Geoffs famous fake profiles....... any minute now Bayriche will be along
Another example of one of the fake news spreaders on the internet forums, I bet this man has never been to Hilltop.

Hahahahaha

No Geoff, never been, and here is one of my bikes not parked outside Hilltop, not waiting to go inside for a “Tune”

Want the receipt and the graphs to?

You are obviously a treetop member and only complaining because you do not understand the inner workings of the flash, it is not the fault of Hilltop if you have no idea.

PS, You are now in Sweden according you your profile, and no longer "Typing" in a comedy Hogans Hero's German accent, you going to come clean about who you really are Bayriche? :):)

I'm an Azure / AWS Architect, so have a basic grasp of these things, so enlighten me on the inner workings of the flash.

I've been a bystander on this whole thing for a while whilst evaluating ECU tunes.
The bottom line is that everyone has their own opinion on HT and their ECU upgrades.

Regardless of which side you stand on - I would only say you're not about to change the view of a person who has either paid good money and is happy, or someone who has paid good money and is unhappy, or someone who has just read the comments and made their own opinion.

INDEPENDENT evidence is the only way to support your argument.
(HT dyno printouts are not independent).

Me - I'm happy I chose BrenTuning in the end.

Hey guys would like to hear your experiences with Hilltop, after certain mods took my bike there last Friday to smooth out flat spots and guy in there could not remap it. He said someone has tinkered ( remaped) with it and his software could not access ecu unit as it was not how it came out of bmw.

I know for a fact bike has been untouched and it is BMW ex demo.

Bike is 2018 model and it seems to me that hilltop may not have the right equipment to flash it I may be wrong but everything points that way.
Please share your experiences

Thanks (y)

I've had my '14 remapped by Hilltop, and I'm very happy with the results.

However, there are those who haven't had such a favourable experience........as @Ian_H suggests, have read through the links, hopefully to then make your own mind up.......it's quite a divisive subject!!

Yeah thanks for the link, I can see that everyone is happy just would be interested to see if anyone has euro 4 done at Geof's place. He seems very nice guy and I was gutted to leave his garage without a remap. He mentioned he needs to get hold of original bmw map upload it and then he can work his magic.. apparently will take him 2 weeks just to get that and then again he was very vague about it all and asked me to call him Monday.

@DomKiwi plenty of discussion on Hilltop in this existing thread: Hilltop Motorcycles ECU Remap?

You'll find plenty of differing opinions.

@Captain @BaldyDave worth merging threads.

Yep I agree the threads should have been merged, so @DomKiwi that's what I've done. Have a read through this thread and make your own mind up. There are indeed differing opinions... :)

I must have read HT thread 3 times now and still as confused as a hungry baby in a nudie bar
If this helps.......this is what I make of it......

HT remaps (not really a remap, more so adding another hidden/invisible map) on pre '17 Euro3 bikes seem to be on the whole well received.

However, from what I can gather, it's mainly on the later Euro4 bikes where people are getting varying results....I've read of a fair number of LC boxer owners (especially) having a gripe. Is that really relevant to R nineT owners who have a different motor? Who knows!!

The possible reasons for the variable results are many-fold, and ALL are speculative....nobody can give a concrete answer as to why.

But please....don't take what I've said as Law.....it's just my personal evaluation of the situation, and in the great scheme of things that doesn't mean dick!

Just be sure to do your own independent testing (at another location beforehand and post runs again after). Sounds like your local so you could always just request a refund in the event you weren’t pleased. Unfortunately on my 2017 (different ECU architecture from 2014-2016 models) his “Magic” was more like “Snake Oil”.....
**But maybe my USA bike was the anomaly, good luck on your decision.

Thanks for your input guys this makes things a bit clearer especially knowing .euro 4 bikes are pain in the back side by the sounds 😂 My bike is ex Demo, Press. Bmw tweak those in order to show that bike performs to what it says on paper ( so I have been told ) it does sound a bit far fetched but you never know.

Anyhow
I have booked her in to David Wood Racing (Buckingham) for the ecu remap. They run it on the dyno first, then work their magic, dyno again and then let you have a go and see if you like it prior to paying. Bit dearer than HT but from what I can gather it is a proper remap as they specialise in this field and also suspension. My appointment not till 8th of September I will be updating you guys as soon as I know more 💪💪

Did you have yours done by HT too?

I'm really looking forward to seeing the results, as I'm sure many others are as well.
A point worth remembering is whoever is tuning/mapping your bike that ultimate HP gains are not usually the sole aim.
Smoother acceleration by not running lean was the big benefit I found with my BrenTuning remap.

(BTW - I know the roads around that area very well. If you plan on riding over - try to take the A413 from Aylesbury up to Buckingham, you won't be disappointed)
