can you bore these cylinders? anyone ever added a supercharger?
Over size boring isn't an option, the barrels are Nicasil lined. That means that any attempt to over size will just ruin the barrels.

As for a supercharger, don't know if that's been done. A turbo would be easier....

Can I just ask why you feel the engine is under powered?

If it's the slow throttle response and lumpy running at slower speeds I'd suggest a Booster Plug.

Buy a Suzuki Hyabusa, it has more than enough power and many aftermarket things to make more than enough "Kill Yourself" power for those beasty bikes that you can do it within of 100 feet. If you really like the Are 9 Tee line of bikes but want some more "Widow Maker Power" out of one you might want to learn how to apply the available power and torque of one to an actual race track VIA track days and some advanced training.

Or you can chase that "power bunny" down a rabbit hole, spend a bunch of money, make your bike a "special" and then claim you invested a bunch of money when it gets crashed, stolen or you decide to sell it. Am I a little harsh? YUP? YUP! No doubt about it I've spent a bunch on performance, looks and weight on my fleet . They all ride, perform and mostly look the same. If you got money to burn on a third gear wheelie, 2nd gear burn out or a 150mph run down a deserted stretch of road have at and enjoy as though its the first and last time you did it, it might be your only chance to do it!

I agree with you to a point.
Who doesn't want a machine that runs at it's best and is squeaking every bit of available horse power from it ? Of course anyone with a wallet can pay for horsepower and I suppose it is up to them how and where to spend it.
I for one would love to peel off the heads and see where they can be improved (all factory heads can use help), not just seat of the pant improvement but a true dyno numbers. Tweak until the wall is reached but still use factory parts just in case something should go pop, factory parts are easier to obtain. Of course all of the other mods done with the exhaust and ecu. Proper suspension and lightening the bike with titanium fasteners along with wicked light rims is a given. It would be fun to see just how fast the pig can run once it can fully and properly breathe.
If money was no object, big bore with replacement sleeves, high compression pistons, carrillo rods, completely reworked heads and valves, different cams, turbo (maybe dual turbo) and some race fuel.
Ok done dreaming
Poor old boy here just makes sure I keep perfect maintenance on my bike, fill it up with super , eat only one cheeseburger, keep my pockets empty and enjoy the grin my bike gives me each and every ride.

It is quite possible to get the 4 valve air heads (please not another discussion about that term) up to some amazing performances - BUT.....
Just to tell a short story. My wife inherited an R1100S from her uncle. When we got the bike it turned out he had a faible for track days and had spent most of his money on the bike.
It drove absolutely amazingly. No ABS it had lost around 35 kg during the process and had been set up with the best Öhlins suspension I have come across yet. The engine was dynoed to 125 hp at the rear wheel.
The flying whale drove absolutely amazingly. More then enough power with a very linear delivery.
But here is the BUT: from all the documentation we found it turned out that hardly any part or bolt of the engine had been left untouched to get to this result. He must have spend as much money on the engine as it cost him to buy the bike in the first place. Bigger bored cylinders, forged pistons and connecting rods, balanced and lightened crankshaft, tuned throttlebodies, changed airfilters, Powercommander, strengthened cluth and re-worked gear box and so on and so forth.
Doable, but not very practical. Unless you know what you are doing and do the service yourself no (BMW) dealer will touch it and you will have to be extremely careful sourcing parts or just doing the services.
My suspicion is this would be pretty much the same with the R nineT engine.
Apart from fiddling with exaust, air filters and a properly dynoed Power Commander I wouldn't bother for normal use.
Racing is always another matter, and if it is track days - there are other options, though maybe not with as much character. Or one stays with the R nineT and makes up for "missing power" with suicidal levels of selfconfidence and skill ......
just my 5 cents

I'm not looking for huge gains otherwise as many have said I would have bought a 200hp bike from the get go. I just wanted to make sure what I listed was what people had done to get the best out of the engine/platform.
There are some dyno charts out there claiming ~maybe~ 5-7 hp gains with a proper ecu flash and full exhaust, but in my opinion the expense outweighs the (minimal) gains.
And the end of the day this engine was swiped from a 'tractor-cycle' intended for longevity and low end torque vs. peak power. Most of us are putting exhaust or air pods on for sound and aesthetics only, likely sacrificing a little power in the process.
TLDR; It can be done, but it's a major expense for minimal gains.

Thanks. I'll just stick with the exhaust then, that kind of hp increase isn't worth the cost for me.

I understand what you’re saying. I’ve done most of the mods listed. Kineo wheels, fast action throttle and ECU reflash made an appreciable difference but I’d like another 10-15 bhp if it were attainable. I’ve researched this and concur that to get it will cost huge money for what is at the end of the day, just a bit of extra icing on what is already a nice cake :) The other point is that even bikes with appreciably more bhp can’t use it on modern day roads so better to be happy with my lot.
