Just got back from Bob's VMW with the first R NineT in Maryland. Only 44 miles, and being pretty "easy" on her until the mold release is off the tires, but I'm very impressed. I just uploaded four pictures into an album in the gallery section. One is of a very nice tee shirt BMW is selling of the bikes. The other is from the rear which shows that the aluminum tail section has the exact same ridge down the middle as the tank. Reminds me of what the designers did with the '63 split window Corvette Stingray from end to end when viewed from above.

First ride through the back road twisties. This bike rocks! I love it more and more. The gearbox was so smooth I didn't really need the clutch (decided to use it anyway...don't worry). Be careful with the brakes...they are beyond outstanding. Bike fits like a glove and at first I thought I was controlling the bike through telepathy. Turns out it was more my knees. This is the first bike I've had (in 46 years of riding dozens of bikes) that I pretty much controlled with pure body english. She's not "twitchy" or squirrel ish at all...very "planted", but very tossable with little effort.
