If BMW decides to continue the R9T beyond these first 2,500 or so 2014 bikes, I hope they do something to make these unique, especially since it's supposed to commemorate their 90 years. Keep selling them if you must (though I hope not), not don't offer the same color, forks...something!;)

Maybe this is where BMW is going?

Motorcycle racer Helmet Motorcycling Motorcycle Motorcycle helmet

If the 'spy' shot is real, maybe BMW will movie toward a water cooled R1200R with telescopic forks, and keep the R9T exclusive.

That would respond to market forces which indicates that the overall form is a winner.

After all much of the R9T is derived from the R1200R, which, to my mind was always a fabulous but ugly sleeper in their range.

Merge the best of both (design and features) and you have a great modern naked.

I'm with you as well, but its absolutely clear that 9T is a standard series model for, at least, 2015 and 2016.

Money (= profit from 9T sales) preveal the exclusivity, unfortunately

simply the name: It was announced worldwide as the "90th anniversary bike"
yes, and what?
to underline and celebrate the Motorrad 90-th anyversary, BMW brought a new "old school" model to the market - 9T.

what makes you think that it will be a "limided addition"?

by the way, BMW was also saying that to satisfy the market deman, all the BMW employees are not alowed to buy 9T in 2014... only since 2015.

does it sound like a "Special Edition bike with limited production period of one season" like you say
or more like - "a standard model for at least 2015 and 2016" as BMW is saying?
