Show off your Urban G/S, modified or stock, I for one would like to see a thread with just this model in the one place.

I'll start, Akro slip on, CRG bar end mirror, Boxer oil filler cap, mirror clamps too. more Farkles on order.

Almost reaching final form back from having new Jekyll & Hyde exhaust fitted
Couple of outstanding bits that need doing :
Id love to do bar end mirrors in combination with the hand guards akin to the mid 00's hypermottard.

Out of the beehive for a much needed pollen searching, and riding too.

I have always been a minimalist rider - i ride what was delivered to the bike by the builder. rarely much more. Not really interested in fancy shocks, hand guards or crash bars. I did add the inexpensive ebay panniers to the girl so I could ride death valley this weekend. Sadly the weather changed my mind and the passes are closed due to snow, rain, flooding and rocks slides. I like and use Kreiga bags when I tour. I like my 20 liter for the seat and 5s for holding other things like extra tools, spare levers and cleaning supplies. Playing with using 1 liter gas bottles for extended range when I do the much of the BDR on the bike. And yes, I love street tires on the bike - there are just fine for fire roads, gravel and navigation on single track. Knobbies in urban areas and canyon shooting are for generally not recommended (a compromise rarely talked about by proponents) - where i ride the most.

I used to think dirt tires are dangerous on asphalt. Mfrs have managed to make high traction knobby tires that are perfectly safe and stable on any surface. I'm still using the factory Karoo 3 that came on the bike. No chicken strips on them at all. The only possible downside is longevity.

glad you like your karoos 80/20 tires. There is a difference between safe for the road and making choices of better grip for road performance (which is most of our miles we all do). I am not concerned so much for longevity either but like to drill down on greater road contact and stopping power. A great compound 95/5 tire will nearly always be superior in cold, wet and oily surfaces. I don't know what the operating temps of the karoo tires are but know even modern knobbies by physical default takes longer to warm up - significant for cold morning starts and wet mountain road riding. Knobbies also reduce gas mileage and are noisier making droning rides home a little less comfortable. More over in a simple gas equation and concern for the planet - getting 8 percent better fuel efficiency over a 6000 miles between tire changes adds up to real savings plus reduces the environmental waste that knobbies put out over street tires (something that most people say they care about but don't really).

I recognize why you would be drawn to use the knobbies and it is a major PITA the have two sets of rims. I also know i can't change your mind with two posts - but in my own experience I am riding for safety with cages who are not paying attention and MC squids hot around me. Having a 10 percent better performance and better breaking power where i ride the most is important to me.

I am not trying to change your mind either. We all have our preferences. I do, however, completely agree with you on the noise factor. The tires actually sound very similar to a single engine airplane on the highway. Which, I kind of enjoy considering BMWs history. This bike doesn't need loud pipes.
