Just awoke my R9T Racer from its winter slumber to warm it up for an oil change.

While waiting for the bike to heat up, I noticed that I appear to have lost the last 3 (or 4) LEDs on the LHS of my Daedelus minima.

Although the light is fine without them I've always been really careful about not allowing the tail hump to exert any pressure onto the LED strip and the light can't be much over 1 year old now.

Is there any way to repair the strip or is the LED strip available as a part?

Cannot afford to pay for a complete new tail light assembly and disappointed as I really like this product

@Jakeypoo

No I purchased the light from Pier City Custom, I looked into a direct US purchase but it was much easier and a lot less hassle to get the light from a UK based shop
I‘m after one currently but not sure I can bring myself to spend that much on a tail tidy/light.

Have you gone back to PCC To see if they will do anything. From what I’ve read Daedalus are pretty good when it comes to warranty claims.

Not yet early days, I'll have to look out when I made the purchase exactly and take it from there

I agree, it's a really neat solution and I don't mind, too much, forking out for something that's so innovative

However it's an outrageous amount of cash for a tail light, so to have it start to fail in a little over a year is irritating putting it mildly.

I expected higher quality, as LED strips can be had for next to nothing

I've been a bit busy over the last couple of days, I'll need to take some pictures and drop a mail to Pier City and to Daedelus, was hoping Sal might have come on here but no luck so far. Once that's done I'll update the thread

Hi John,

Apologies! I've been out of town/out of touch for a few days here and just getting caught up today. Got the email from Rory @ Pier City and we'll be working with him to handle the replacement quickly here for you!

The LED's are under warranty and are replaced for free! They are usually pretty good but every once and awhile the manufacturer doesn't seal them perfectly or a wire breaks knocking out a segment. It's a bummer but the replacement is easy and of no cost to you (minus a couple days)

Sorry about the delay but should be taken care of shortly here.

So just to add to @[email protected] response

I sent of a mail today to Pier City and put Sal on the CC.

Before the day was out I recieved a positive response from both and I'm very pleased.

Rory at Pier City is sending me a replacement part and Sal is backing him up with a replacement to Pier City

I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome, I'm extremely grateful to both parties in both the speed of response and the positive way they've stood behind the product.

I wouldn't hestitate in giving both parties a A** for customer service and will happily look to purchase from either/both first should I need anything else that they offer.

Customer backup at this level IMHO is quite hard to find, so a huge thank you to both Daedalus and Pier City Custom
