Looks like if you order from UG to UK they remove the VAT. You probably have to pay the UK VAT upon arrival. At least it cuts out the middleman, right?

The Italian UG site has them on at 704€, add UK vat at 20% gives 845€. Converting this to GBP it is just a little bit more than I paid for the items plus I got the lock adapter kit and paid UK postage.

The 'middleman' must have got part of their profit from UG.

If you mean ordering from UG Italy without knowing what might be charged duty and other costs, yes it could be expensive. The UK company quoted me a delivered price to my house and that is exactly what I paid.

Ok I could have gambled and got the items from Italy, but it could have gone wrong.

Easiest is to take the flap where the key goes in of the bike, takes two nuts to take off.

Thanks for the advice, yes I did get the black lock but managed to fit the lock and the hasp without having to dismantle anything.

I have always thought my Hepco and Becker skid plate made my bike noisier engine wise by deflecting the sounds upward. The plate is quite heavy and does not have much in the way of slats cut into it. When you tap it hard it almost rings.
Down to my local auto accessory shop and I bought a couple of pieces of sound deadening pads. Stuck them on, rollered them down and covered as much as I could. I did not like the silver look, so sprayed with some black paint.
The skid plate now has a dead thud when you hit it.
On the road it is quieter even the gear shift thuds are more muted. So I think a result.

I was inspired by the matching of the Wunderlich Wunderbob rear hugger to the tank colour on the R 9T . I was searching for ages to find someone who could make me a hugger similar to the Wunderlich one but longer. This was to give me better wet weather protection. I quite liked the design of the Ex-motorcycle oil cooler cover I thought painting it white would pick out the design. The parts went to my painter two weeks ago and they have just come back. They are a perfect match to the BMW colour.

The short hugger is easiest to fit, so that was first. The longer hugger I will fit at a later date.

The bike is not going out now until the spring, to see what it looked like I put the short one on as it is easier. The custom one is a bit more of a fiddle and I first need to cover it with masking tape so I do not scratch it.

Remove the oil cooler guard if you really not need it - let it plain.
Otherwise you could remove and fix those fork-cateyes there as I tried once I'd installed a guard.

Do you mean the amber reflectors on the front forks? If I did would I get in trouble with the German Police next time I toured Germany? I have seen that the German Police can be quite particular with non approved aftermarket parts and modifications.

Yes!
But you can move/replace them as long as they're somewhere at the front side and visible.
Other designs should have a "E" stamp. Police maybe not care but in case of an accident the insurance may ask about a missing relector if it's removed.
Reflector tape is not allowed. Got the smallest I can get, blacked out the frame.

Finally fitted the painted rear hugger. Alignment not too bad considering it was hand made off the bike. I am sure it will keep most of the road spray off me.

Starting to like the lighter color schemes more and more. Was always a fan of black but this looks good.

Thank you, I always liked the black colour scheme on the classic but most of them were in that colour. So I took a leap of faith and ordered it without seeing it in the flesh.
