Did the cylinder head cover come with the bike. Very nice. Would love to get one as well. I suggest that you consider the Wunderlich Head Light TT cover, expensive but gives the bike a nice look and does protect headlight. I have done 12 000km with mine and after a few hundered km noticed slight damage to lens of head light as well as the plastic cover around it. The TT sorted that.Hey people.
my name is Rene and I am from holland.
Last week I bought myself a R9T racer. It came from the first owner and has only driven 950KM (590 miles).
the previous owner had bought the bike in February. brand new from a dealer. the dealer actually wanted to keep the bike in his private collection, but after much insistence the previous owner was able to buy it.
unfortunately the previous owner fell ill and had to abruptly sell the bike. when I bought the motorcycle from him, the best man was with tears in his eyes. I bought the bike with the promise that I would take good care of her.
the motorcycle is 100% original and because the original dealer only had the motorcycle in stock, the motorcycle still has a factory warranty.
I have just ridden the motorcycle over 1000KM and she now wants her first service. the appointment is scheduled!

good tip. I would try to cover the headlight with a clear wrap first. I like the oem lookDid the cylinder head cover come with the bike. Very nice. Would love to get one as well. The clear wrap can work if you cover the plastic around it as well. We have lots of debris on our roads and generally have longer distances as well, resulting travelling at higher speed with the local farmers in their pick-ups for whom going slow is not an option. They always fling mud around. 😄 I had a look at that era bikes and generally the racers had that round nose cone and that swung it for me (added benefit is protection of plastic around lens). I also like the original Racer look and hence my decision not to change to much. I did add the BMW leather bags(similar to SW Motech). Initially it met with a stony silence from fellow 9t afficionados as well as the sales person at BMW, but after fitting it did not look to bad nad that solved the problem of packing space. That engine loves distance and the bags allows me to do trips. The longset I have done was a 500km trip, overnight in B&B and back. That engine loved those long istances, hence my plan for a 1400 km trip. I just need to decide if I go for bust and do it in one day or two days. Do not forget the small tank bag, very practical as you store a cellphone and credit card and have access to fuel tank without removing bag, I fitted plastic cover on the fuel tank and added rubber strips to allow for sand and other debris to blow/wash away and not act like sanding paper. I like that leather strap. Enjoy.good tip. I would try to cover the headlight with a clear wrap first. I like the oem look
I second that!Welcome from Austin, TX!
