Greetings,

just signed up...

Looking forward to this bike. I ride a T100 triumph bonnie and it needs a stablemate.

...my Bim dealer let me take a GS1200 today so i can compare... very nice feel to that motor. And in general the bike rides with a kind of certitude...lots of technology....felt secure and nimble...ABS brakes were amazingly easy to get used to....

my singular concern is....SOUND.....realizing that the GS is highly tuned (as all BMWs are), I cant escape my hooligan origins: For me a moto must make some good noise. hoping the Nine does a good growl....(it's actually a deal-breaker for me...)

Welcome GusTSR.

There will be a lot of Bonneville/Thruxton/Breva riders to make that choice.
Those bikes are beautiful, but driving them for a long journey is sometimes not so comfortable. Driving a flat is so more fun.

True, I'm one of them.

I put about 13,000km on the Thrux this season, out of which 4000 during a 12 day trip. I had car support for the most part but I really need something bigger/more comfortable/faster and with better fuel range...

+1 on the desirability for better range. with my predator pipes and remapping sometimes it feels like my bike's got the bladder of a schoolgirl...

I get where youre coming from sounds is just as importat to me. Volume is an issue too I can't stand quiet ones. Hopefully it has a nice purr and growl to it. ABS is good for safety since you wouldn't be able to accidently do a stoppy and knock your teeth on the bars with too much brakes.
