... with just a little help from a 5" grinder and some elbow grease, create a hump from under AUD $70! And still stuff leftover for perhaps an aileron or fender-extender (front), even a streamlined tail for the helmet - to break some speed records in rural settings :p ...

re the 2nd picture, maybe one of the forum members who's already got his hands on the OEM hump, maybe you could be so kind and post the measurements for us? Nothing new BMW has arrived on our shores yet. My dealer indicates that my bike hasn't been built yet - since it's only then that they will be advised of a serial number, etc ... bla bla bla
(does anyone else get the feeling too, that BMW's bikes sell themselves in SPITE of their sales staff? BMW riders must the only ones who read up on stuff, walk in the shop and know what they want ... the sales guys don't need to push any buttons ... I'm hooked ... it's so unfair ... but it irks me nonetheless ...:()

meanwhile ... for us it's back to the shed .... getting busy :)

it's new and metal ... yay, so I'm in with a chance .... have to compare dimensions first though to see if it's suitable or if I should be looking for an old tank or mudguard instead ....

... there is another small voice in the brain whispering, you really wanna skimp on a $23,000 bike???? duh .... just go for the OEM hump ... but then that smidgen of frugality & creativity still functioning, pipes up saying, remember you wanted to create a two-up custom seat, allowing for easy-on-easy-off saddlebag arrangement, and easy-on/off hump to cover pillion when riding alone ... not too hard a task is it ??? phew ... what have I done .... ach well, just get on with it ... remember, the journey is the destination :)
