First post so be gentle.

I have a 1250 GS TE already. I have always liked the look of the standard r nine t. I have a chance of a brand new 22 at a reasnoable price. I have never sat on one let alone ride one. i am being told that they are un comfortable with a stretch to the bars putting pressure on wrists and back. Is this correct. I’m 5 foot 9.

Welcome to the forum. If you already have a 1250 GS, you probably have the wherewithal to purchase the 22 and if you don't like it offload it. It's a different bike with different ergonomics. The 1250 does everything really well. This bike will force you to make some compromises. If you are not willing to do that. It might not be the bike for you.

The best thing to do is go sit on it, and maybe take it for a test ride before you make a decision.

Thank you for all your posts and PM’s. I have taken the plunge and bought a new 2022 R Nine T in black. Getting this week, I can’t wait.
That's awesome welcome to this world. Please take the time to ride that bike for a little bit before you start any sort of mods. The bike is beautiful the way it is. The little things can be a set of bar risers Which shouldn't run you over $25 American 30 at the most. You can go and buy the big name ones and when you open the package you'll see nine times out of 10 it's the same as the $25 risers. Give the stock seat a chance and if it doesn't work for you , there are options. I personally enjoy the sergeant seats and I've used them on several bikes have one on the R9Ts now. Maybe look at foot pegs down the line. Risers, seat cargo management and suspension is a good order. All the other stuff is just an exercise in vanity. You have to give your self time to get used to that bike before you start snapping new stuff on it. You got to give your butt time to adjust to the new seat. Enjoy your ride.

Congrats on the new bike, Stevie. Gene asked me to bring the bright light to shine in your face for the interrogation.
