First post so be gentle.

I have a 1250 GS TE already. I have always liked the look of the standard r nine t. I have a chance of a brand new 22 at a reasnoable price. I have never sat on one let alone ride one. i am being told that they are un comfortable with a stretch to the bars putting pressure on wrists and back. Is this correct. I’m 5 foot 9.

I bought mine before riding it. It was in a consignment shop and I made an impulse buy based on it's mileage and age. I made a few adjustments to the suspension but haven't messed with anything else. I spent about 10 hours on it one day and don't see any need yet. The seat is thin and hard but I find it works. Welcome to the asylum. I'd suggest you buy the bike and make any changes you require/desire as you go. Modifying and customizing ability of the R NineT seems to be one of it's greatest strengths.

Only 16 posts on if or when he should get an R NineT is just the beginning. This horse has just barely made it out of the barn. This topic can go on for months even if the OP decides to stop participating altogether.

I'm not so sure he did buy it. He never posted after starting this thread. Maybe the horse beating was a bit overwhelming to him after all. Makes sense though, trying to ask advice from people who claim silly things like discs float. :p
Woohoo!!! You've made a brilliant choice. I think you're going to really enjoy it.
