R nineT Photo Tag Challenge

70295 Views 609 Replies 66 Participants Last post by  Robin90
Based on similar photo challenge threads/games I've participated in I'd like to propose one for our R nineT forum.

The concept: Someone posts a photo of their R NineT, any flavor, with some category of landmark in view. It can be most anything at all - a church, post office, bridge, dam, scenic overlook, beach, lake, etc. That photo is the "Tag", and to capture the Tag someone must then post a picture of their R nineT with that same category of landmark in view. They then become "It", and may then post a photo of their bike in front of a new landmark type, which becomes the new Tag.

General (simple) Rules

• Make the landmark something that somebody who lives most anywhere on the planet can take a photo of. Good photo theme example: Gas station. Bad photo theme example: Palace currently occupied by royalty

• Don't post something that costs admission. Example: On a ferry boat

• The spirit of the game says that the pictures you post for both the old Tag and your new Tag should be obtained by riding somewhere and taking new pictures. Scouring your hard drive for a two year old picture of your 9T parked at a tunnel is not the idea. Having an excuse to go ride your bike somewhere to take a new picture IS the idea.

• It helps to be clear what the theme is when you post a new tag. Saying "Barn" in the post will help when there is, perhaps, a barn, a lake, and a boat in view in the pic.

• If a given tag languishes too long without a new Tag then someone can request a Mod to declare the Tag to be open to anyone. (Assuming the Mods are willing to accept that role.) What constitutes "too long" will be up to the mods.

• Additions or changes to the rules can be suggested to the Mods, who could then modify this original post.

Clear as mud?

Again, the idea is to give folks a reason to ride their bike somewhere and get a good photo. Everyone who clicks on the thread should see a series of fun 9T pics.

I'll start.

NEW TAG: Barn

MODERATOR EDIT - have a read at the first few replies and the format and challenge should become clear. :)

Nicely done! And here I am with no mirrors on the bike until Purolator shows up with my lanesplitters.

@MrPeanutbuttersolution, when you get your lane splitters, you'll be running circles around all of us. I for one, can't wait.

Oh definitely. Those lanesplitters added at least an extra 5-7hp. Now once the blinker fluid is changed there's no stopping me.

Since my 9T was replaced by my Monster I've been sobbing into my pillow at night in frustration at not being able to post in this thread. Desperate times require desperate actions, I'm thinking about printing a BMW sticker kit for the Ducati, I don't think the casual observer will notice?

If the Duc sported a roundel, and each post was an ode to what you didn’t realize you’d miss until it was gone, you would, of course, be welcome here. Maybe simply a prominent R nineT license plate frame on the back of that thing would do the trick. . .

We’ve been missing you.

Ok Guys buckle up, it's story time. I have "Owned" A 2017 NineT Pure for a little over a year, but I crashed a different bike days into my NineT ownership and have not been on the bike at all until this spring/summer with the love and support for my best friends who also ride. Now that I am gaining way more confidence on the bike, I feel as though I can now be in the beginning stages of NineT ownership, as I have put roughly 250 miles on this spring/summer. I know it's not much, but it's huge for me personally. With my inaugural post on these forums, I have decided to take this challenge.

Old Post: Popular ice cream stand:

New post: An American flag as a celebration of those who fell in the line of duty on this Memorial Day:

Welcome, Dagnel!! Proud of you for getting back on the horse - planning to grab this tag tomorrow unless someone beats me to it . American flag may geo-lock the challenge but I’m sure there’s gotta be a couple around our global friends’ locales.
That's a tough one. let me see. Where could there be an American flag?

just look at the photo without reading with the new tag was made me think it was tar snakes

Hi @Dagnel, sorry to hear you were laid up and really glad you're back riding again. Also, really good to have another player in the photo tags. It has been super fun for me to play this game. I think more people globally should get involved.

@Dagnel good to have you on the forum and thanks for continuing the challenge.

I would like to reiterate that this is a global challenge, and as such the tags should be relatively available to all forum members no matter which country they are in.
So in this case the tag would have been more appropriately titled "Your national flag". ;)

Also when you get a chance please post an introduction thread in the New Member Introductions section. We always appreciate hearing new member stories and nineT rides.
Cheers :)

Man, just missed it. Grabbed the pic a couple hours ago but just got home to post, it was a beautiful day to pile on 127 miles. Here’s the pic for kicks, the tag remains Baloo’s call of “old rail station.” Funnily enough mine was going to be railroad tracks.

Nice wall mural
Man this can't be difficult. I know people all over the world, have a train depot near them.
I made my way to the South Whatcom Railway in Wickersham on new roads yesterday, hoping to find the ruins of a station. Lots of tracks, railway signs, and even trains, but no station. 👎
