Had a look on the BMW-Motorrad UK site earlier today, nothing mentioned as far as I can see, but entered my bike into the Recall Lookup, thankfully, nothing required.

Might be an idea to check the Recall Lookup in your location.

so far, fingers crossed, only for the shaft drives on the "wrong side" i.e. the left
Apparently BMW has mainly problems with the shaft drives on the liquid cooled boxers which have the shaft drive on that side. But there were some instances for the right side shafts as well, in the past. That would mean us lot
It's not exactly rocket science to check the shaft drive, but its nothing one does just for fun before a sunday ride....
my dealer, which has a fairly reputable workshop, doesn't see the need to include that before 50k ....

I apply moly paste to the spline and swap FD fluid every 12k....should avoid this.

My GS goes into the dealer on Monday for its check. I'm not expecting any issues as I grease the splines when I perform a major service. They should add the breather to the FD though.
