Hi,
so I am 200 miles in on my NineT and the Remaining Distance fuel indicator seems to be absolutely random.
Even on a full tank the display shows anywhere between 30 to 80 miles remaining on the tank...

Will it take more time and mileage history to compute better or is this a fault on my bike - how is yours behaving?

It's been long documented of distance to empty calculations on BMW's to give false readings.
Search Fuel strip issues, or the title of your thread, lots of info on BMWMOA, ADVrider and r1200r.org
Personally, my 12R has been very accurate for many years, but I still just go by the odometer. Your accuracy might improve as the bike learns, if it doesn't be ready for headaches from BMW when it comes to "fixing" the issue, or just use the odo and move on.
Fuel economy in general will improve once the motor fully is ran in too.
Then again, if your low fuel light is not coming on then you could have a bad fuel strip which could be effecting the countdown milage, another issue that seems to effect some BMW's.

I thought they would have removed that countdown function by now to save folks the trouble and complaints.

At 200 miles it's time to fill up either way, better to keep that fuel pump submerged in gas, which helps cool it, than to run it out unless you have to. I would expect this bike to get very similar milage as the r1200r, anywhere from 170 to 230 depending on how you ride.

I'd recommend giving it a few more tanks to see what happens, by the time you take it in for 600 mile service you'll know much more.

Rock Store sunday morning?...

Mine's coming today...

I never trust the distance calculator on any vehicle. So much of it depends on accurately measuring fuel and converting that into an accurate measure of how far the car will go with that fuel. While this seems easy, I guess its not, because I have been stranded on the side of the road while the car says it should go another 45 km.

:D Rock store sunday morning.

Picking mine up Saturday afternoon. I have to get my horse out and play with him all morning so I won't feel too guilty bailing on him on Sunday

But as of right now, IM IN.

I think ZugVogel (spelling?) said something similar about Sunday morn.

Yep, Rockstore Sunday morning, ten'ish I'd think. I hope to see you guys there!
The remaining fuel indicator on my 07 GSA is very accurate so I expected the same here - but time will tell I guess
