Has anyone here tried one of these from Pier City? Am intrigued if it will replace the non available dynamic mode on the '23 scrambler?

I was asking the same question as Im interested if it works to sort the fuelling when performing a catless/flapless header swap.

Ordered the Smart unit for my '21 Scrambler a couple days ago from PCC, just shipped from the UK. I'll report back once I get it installed.

Running catless/flapless with the stock dual Akros.
I bit the bullet and also ordered an RB-Smart from PCC on Tues, I want something reversible if needed rather than a full remap. I have the feeling that the UG header will be too loud and I’ll swap back but at least the Smart should still be useful to bring the AFR richer.

I have the UG stainless headers/flapless/stock dual mufflers and I absolutely love the sound. I'm well past my straight piped loud as possible days and I really think the sound with stock mufflers and a catless/flapless setup is perfect. Only time I ever think it's 'loud' is on cold start - seems to run high idle for ~20 seconds or so vs the ~10s it did with the flapper and is much louder without it. Once the idle drops it really is perfect.

I've been running like that for ~2k miles with no real 'issues'. Only decided to pursue the Rapid bike stuff because I recently went on a spirited mountain ride, ~6,000 feet higher than I normally ride and the bike just felt kind of gutless. Curious to see what if any noticeable changes happen.
Here's a quick sound clip:

Note how the 'sharpness' disappears once it sets into the normal idle at ~14s. Curious to see how the Smart module effects.

Sounds good, I did love the sound of my old 2018 9T with the Remus header and std twin akra, the only issue I had was fairly poor running without the flapper which I want to avoid this time. I quite like the fact that there is an idle up now to warm for 20s, it helps get the thing more stable after fire up, the euro4 was could have done with it, fortunately I dont have issues with neighbours.

Well mine came in today - installed it after work. Tight squeeze getting the wiring ran pretty but no big deal. It seems to be on/working, PC can connect to it and everything.

I honestly don't know if I'm supposed to change anything or if it's ready to party right out of the box

No time to ride tonight but I'll rip around on it this weekend and toggle it on and off back to back. Started up fine, didn't do anything weird.

Well that was short lived

Device said it had a firmware update, clicked OK. Let it run (key to on, bike not started). Got half way through and said update failed. Now the LED won't come on and I can't connect to it.

Looks like it bricked itself 🤦‍♂️

Emailed Dimsport and PCC - I'll update on how either/both handle

From my research with DIMsport, the RB-smart come with a starting 3D enrichment map by default which was setup by them on a dyno and aims to take the AFR from 15+ down to more like 13.5 when under load. You cant change the 3D map in a granular way but you can raise or lower the entire map which applies a multiplier to their enrichment % increase, as an end user, these are your adjustment ‘levels’. If you want to mod the 3D map at a specific site (eg add higher % addition just at 4500RPM and 75% throttle) then you need their licensed software which is really for tuning shops. I have one arriving today to try out, I guess I’d better skip the firmware updating then if it screws it up!
@jontait You get yours installed? Curious if yours accurately shows throttle position - looking back it seems like mine, even when initially 'working', wasn't registering throttle input which seems like it would render the device effectively useless.

Dimsport got back to me with some steps to try - unfortunately the device seems to be properly dead 😥

Hoping PCC can assist with some sort of exchange. Riding weather is perfect here and it's a shame to have to bike sitting.
throttle position must come from the obd2 port. I was up late fitting the unit and a new header and servo eliminator, I havent tested it yet as I think starting up at midnight might get a few complaints! I’ll try it later this evening and start with the tps as like you say its useless if it cant follow the throttle for the 3D enrichment map.
Ok so in short, mine seems to work fine. Throttle position updates on the windows app and afr charts fluctuate correctly to show the lambda outputs. My ears are ringing though as this thing is now seriously LOUD on the cold start cycle and blipping bark. Im going to need more ear plugs….
Ive not tested the ride yet but it looks like it is modulating the lambda before presenting to the ecu so it should be good to enrich as planned. I can see myself swapping the header back to stock as its so loud now with the UG one and no db killers. no kidding that my ears are ringing 20 mins later and that was only ~2k RPM.
Glad yours worked out OK. Dimsport ghosted me after the canned response with some steps to take. PCC stepped up (of course they did, those guys are awesome) and are sending me a label to return. They noted they've had problems with these units and advised a return rather than a replacement :(. They didn't go into specifics but it looks like I'll be waiting for another piggyback unit that supports the Euro 5 models before trying again.

For what it's worth - I definitely wouldn't recommend updating the firmware haha.
I wish I had found this thread a few weeks ago...I also ordered the RB Smart from PCC and had the same issue with the TPS not being shown and then tried to update the firmware and bricked the unit. I tried to work with both PCC and RapidBike here in the US and RB basically told me to piss off bc I bought the unit from a European supplier. PCC on the other hand was actually really helpful trying to troubleshoot and ultimately suggested a return as you guys stated above. For those of us wanting a bit more power and ability to change headers, intake, muffler, etc, what other options do we have? Brentune? anything else?

Bummer man, makes sense why they just wanted them back instead of replacing them then.

I found a local Brentune dealer in SoCal and called and chatted with a guy there. This is going to sound silly, but I'm shying away from that just for the fact that it's CARB legal. If you're not in CA that basically means the state air resources board has signed off on the tune. I can't wrap my head around it being worth while if the state nannies signed off on it haha

Yeah that makes sense to me too. I'd be willing to guess that CARB is nearly a strict as Euro 5. I would be interested to know if Brentune can do and "off-road" or "race-only" tune for those of us not in Cali. For the cost it would have to be a pretty significant change in my mind.

That was exactly my thought process too. For $900 I want something illegally good :ROFLMAO:. The guy kept trying to sell the CARB certification as a good thing... like dude my cat 'fell off' when I got it, who cares about an approved EO number.
