Yes, the T has a steering damper.
'The steering damper and two-mode Automatic Stability Control (ASC) are standard equipment for all R1200 models – GS, GS Adventure and RT - from the 2014 model year onwards. The Adventure and RT bikes will have these features from their launches early in the new year and the GS model has benefited from the upgrade since the annual model year change this autumn. It makes economic and logistical sense to harmonise this specification across all R1200 models as they are built on the same production line.'

All bikes oscillate at some speed. This is why steering dampers are required for all bikes running at Bonneville.I didn't think you could actually see the steering damper in pictures. What does it do? Just stop the bike from wobbling when you go fast enough?
Yeah I won't be taking my 9T to BonnyAll bikes oscillate at some speed. This is why steering dampers are required for all bikes running at Bonneville.
The purpose of the damper is to prevent oscillation from happening.
My R60/2 has one which was absolutely necessary until I changed the head bearings from balls to Timkens.
My R90S came stock with a steering damper.
Proper setup and attention to maintenance will reduce and in some cases negate the need for a steering damper, but having one does not hurt.
If you feel that the stock damper is not adequate, I am sure that Ohlins or Scott's will be happy to sell you a fancier one.
The only bike that I own without a damper is my Yamaha R6 and after having a little instability coming down from wheelies, I am going to install one.
