Sunday I attended a 1/2 day Street Riding Clinic put on by Dianese Store of Orlando and ChampSchool. I have been doing the ChampU online program and this was a nearby opportunity to get some in person feedback. Apparently these clinics are put on regularly by Dainese in Italy but this was the first one offered in the US. It was taught by the ChampSchool instructors who were on the way back from a school weekend at Homestead near Miami. They set a course up in the store parking lot and and we were able to do trailbraking, U-turn, cornering, and emergency stop drills, most of it in the rain.
Most of the crew were former military and it showed in their professionalism and concise instruction. Lots of great up to date information from current and past racers and motorcycle safety specialists.
Due to the positive response and immediate sellout, the Dainese rep from Italy said they would start holding these clinics in their stores across the US.
There were two twelve person sessions with a real blend of bikes and BMW was well represented - 4 in the morning class and a few more in the afternoon.
It was a blast.

Have you ever been to Las Vegas? I think I'd prefer BF Egypt. 😉 About those race leathers... Are they little? I get the impression Rossi is a small guy.

Closest Dainese ot me is just slightly farther than BF Egypt. Probably won't be seeing any of those anytime soon.
There’s one in Dallas Gene, if they schedule an event maybe you could ride to Dallas … it’s just over 650 miles .. that around 9 hours riding …so with gasNpee stops maybe close to 12 in the saddle … could you pull that off ? I’ve done it 5 or 6 times as a younger man, my sister lived in the foot hills of Sandia for 60+ years. These days I’m not sure I could do that in one day. If there is an event and you decide to come let me know. I’ll reserve my guest house for you. It’s a tiny motel in my back yard. Give it some thought and check in with Dainese and see what’s up. Your welcome at my fire ………………………………… Blitz

Now that may be worth looking into. About a month ago I rode 8-9 hours bouncing around on dirt roads. No wind but otherwise seemed ok on the nether areas. A full day may be possible. Ooohhh... an iron butt type ride on a Scrambler. That will be a new achievement for my records. I'll have to send my wife to Europe or Bali or someplace excellent first so she'll let me take another road trip.

With the right road tires the highways are great …. It’s a sweet trip at 80 if you have a good wind screen otherwise your neck will be a mess ….. or maybe that’s just me …. Blitz
