Tail Tidy with OEM lights

Really hope someone makes a tail tidy that keeps the same rear lights and indicators

come on R&G do your stuff!

I just installed a tail tidy from 8-racing Motorcycle Parts. With EU tail, EU rear indicators and GS license plate adapter on my UGS. Cleaned up the rear end considerably. Just need to figure out if old-style/bean LED or 2021 triangular LED indicator units.

@JR533 I found this old thread as a better place for your post considering the other thread was discussing the new 2021 OEM tail units.
Do you have a side pic of your setup?

Hi @Captain, sounds good on the post relocation to this thread.

Here's an after install side shot. Also have a before, but I think most of us already know what the standard rear fender/tail/plate holder looks like. Plus NA vs EU tail light and plate holder comparison.

Just curious, would it be theoretically possible to mount the US style light and licenes plate piece to the 8-racing tail?

I'd like to clean up my tail a bit, but would like to retain the stock US light as well as the side reflectors.

Oh and do your side bags still fit on the slc carriers?

Hey ZenandTofu,

Yes you can completely reuse the USA rear brake light and turn indicators, as the mount points are the same. Just the USA brake assemble is bigger, as shown in my photos. SLC carriers and the turn indicators still fully functional without any issues, as the 8-racing mounts them basically in the same spot, maybe a few mm difference, just the rear fender piece is shortened over the stock one.

The 1250GS USA plate mount, offers the side reflector option, as a slide-in piece, else the MY19+ R1250R comes stock with them mounted. As that's what's current on my MY20 R1250R

Awesome.
I’m also trying to install one of those GS rear mudguards, so the extra clearance from the tail tidy should be perfect, but still legal to the rather persnickety local law enforcement.
