Old School, that about sums up the NineT.. I feel like it combines the R90 with the bulletproof build of the R75. Whats going to be really cool is that BMW is honoring the culture of cafe racing by offering the NineT from launch with a bevy of custom options all designed to make the bike yours, not just one of many. Motorrad is offering different exhaust systems, LED indicators, tail pillions or no tail at all ;)

In terms of construction the 1170 boxer twin (R75 remember;)) is acting as a load bearing element of the chassis, this holds plants the bike solidly and contributes to lowering CG. One area BMW strayed from tradition was equipping the NineT with upside-down tele forks instead of BMW's signature telelever suspension. The fork was lifted straight from the S1000RR, which means it offers compression and rebound adjustments. At the rear, the single-sided swingarm is suspended by BMW’s paralever system with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping.

Brakes are four-piston monobloc calipers controlled with steel-braided brake lines, grabbing dual 320mm discs in front and two-piston caliper grips a 265mm disc out back. ABS is standard equipment.

Circular headlight and spokes complete the throwback..

P.S I told you there would be an Akrapovic silencer ;)

Talk about up to date goodies on the Nine T. Lets be honest even without the classic front fairing with all the state of the art component who is going to argue. I am impressed and happy with everything that they came up with so far. Is this the final product? That is my question.

Luckily they still kept the analog tachometer and speedo gauge. The center screen brings it right up to date to handle all the stats and data.
