Hey all,
We're very excited to announce our latest product, the Minima.
This tail tidy for the R nineT has a few features that set it apart from it's bigger brother.
Namely, the ability to work in conjunction with the BMW Side Bag mounts. This is something we've had a lot of our customers and BMW employees ask for, and we were happy to make it happen. The LED light is smaller, and this kit has built-in external signal mounts (we recommend them, but it certainly works without.)
Another thing we've heard about for a while is the obvious price difference between our original kit and some others on the market out there. To address this with the Minima, we've used a slightly thinner stock aluminum (and the smaller LED) to lower our production costs so we can offer this kit starting at $379. We'll certainly still be offering our classic tidy as well, fear not.

We're happy to answer any questions here about the Minima, or anything else, and we'd love to hear your feedback. We very much value this community and are very happy to be on this journey together with you. We've got some more exciting plans for the future (headlight anyone?? I promise we're working on it) and look forward to sharing them with you. Cheers, Ross.

I don't suppose you have any customer photos with a rear rack also installed? I have an Urban GS and installed a rack for usability (daily driver), it's basically the same length as the diving board, so it makes it look a little better (form following function), but I can't help wonder how it would look with one of your guys' rad kits.

Great photos btw, your hard work and attention to detail blows away the competition (and industry at large), really nice job.

Thank you so much for the kind words!
As of now, we don't have any customer photos with a rear rack installed (perhaps you could be the pioneer!) Sounds like you would need the Minima to work in conjunction with the rack, and I'd be happy to provide you a small discount towards that if you're interested, just send me a message. All the best, Ross.

Hey Ross! I placed an order a couple weeks ago and I haven't heard from anyone. Are things still up and running over there?

Things sure are! We have been working hard to meet production for our orders, and are a little behind right now, but certainly working on it. Have you emailed us or anything? I don't really have any way to know who you are otherwise. If you've got any other questions, please send them to [email protected]
Cheers, Ross.

Ross - while you are at it I have been waiting for a response to my queries about a replacement board for months -- have not heard anything - NOTHING. Come on guys, you have a great product - but REPUTATION & SUPPORT IS EVERYTHING. If you could help me out it would be appreciated. Yes - I have emailed [email protected] numerous times

Hey! New to this forum and also a proud new owner of a 2016 R nine T. I've been researching tail tidys and I believe the Minima is exactly what I need but I do have a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer but first a bit of an explanation. I purchased a used RnineT that came with aftermarket rear turn signals. They look good and so I would want to keep them but they stick out more from the frame (64mm) than the Rizoma Club. I'm also looking to get the SW-Motech Legend Saddle bags (hence the Minima choice) but I'm worried that my wider turn signals will hit the bags. So my questions are;
- How much distance is there from the outside of the minima signal light connection point to the inside of the bag? Anything more than 76mm (3 inches) should be fine for my needs.
-Is the signal light connector universal? If the signal light currently fits on the bike. it should fit on the Minima?
-Should I get the OEM signal adapter?
-Can I interchange the back seat with the cowl easily?
I was planning on asking these questions directly to Daedalus but I figured I'd go this route in case others may have the answers for me.
Thanks

Hey there Canuck, this is a very specific instance you've got here, and not having all of those components in hand, we can't speak in certainties here. That being said, I've attached some pictures of our Minima Tail Tidy with external signals and bags mounted, and there's still a considerable gap between them, so you'll more than likely be fine.

And no, the signal connectors are not universal, but if you write us a note when you order, I'll include some 3-pin adapters for you to wire on to your signals that will plug in to our board. Don't forget solder and heat shrink!
The back seat and cowl are pretty easy to change out, and we include spacers so when you're running a back seat, our kit still stays nice and snug underneath without a gap. Should take less than 5 mins to change between the two setups.

And we're always happy to answer any questions here, it may help someone in the future as well.
Apologies for the late response, but hope this finds you well! Cheers, Ross.

This is a great tidy setup, I put one on a weekend ago and it couldn't have been easier, took maybe 30 minutes tops and that's only because I had to walk back and forth to the toolbox a few times to get the right tools. I've got the OEM fabric bags and they fit fine. I got the brackets to re-use the stock signals but decided not to use them, it's just so clean with just the LED indicators and it looked like clearance for the bags might be an issue.

Here are few more pics with and without the bags, it looks great with the hump! With the passenger seat there is a gap, but Daedalus provides some spacers to close it, I rarely use the passengers seat so this is ideal.

The right indicator is on in these pics, but the iPhone camera seemed to wash out the yellow, it's much more obviously different from the red side and brighter in real life.

to be clear...with the minima you can get a version that has run, turn signals and brake all in one unit which would negate the need to external blinkers. Is that right?
You certainly can. It's pretty convenient that the next post after yours included an install with the integrated strip, and without external signals!
Cheers, Ross.

awesome, great to know. All of the pics I've seen had the external blinkers so I wanted to make sure. Thanks for the pics Bonafiedbob. The bike looks great

I run the passenger seat right now so it's good to know that spacers are provided to close whatever gap there might be.

I run the passenger seat right now...
I should clarify, I have the Comfort Passenger Seat, not the regular one. The bike came with the hump and so I figured since I was adding one for an occasional passenger might as well get the comfy one!

I haven't seen the stock passenger seat in person but I think the comfort one is higher than the regular passengers seat, it has a significant post under the back part where it screws onto the tail. This doesn't appear to be the case with the normal passengers seat with the Daedalus photos above.

EDIT: And I think the integrated Run-Turn-Break LED is great, worth the extra $20, and no external blinker is necessary*. The Rizoma options were tempting, only problem is then I'd want them on the front too...

*I think strictly speaking the bike is not to code in California, CA ADC § 699 says front and rear turn signal lamps on motorcycles shall be at least 23 cm apart, I didn't measure... But if it ever comes up (ha!) I have the brackets and can put the original signals on too.

if I get the under tail license plate mount is there any way to mount it differently than the pics in the gallery? Ideally, I'd like to mount the plate a little further in and not have it directly under the tail light.

Is there a picture you can post of the plate mount by itself?
