Fingers crossed that headlight and the LED blinkers are retrofittable
Agreed on the headlight! I've looked at aftermarket LED headlights but wasn't too crazy on the design. And I didn't want to lose the little BMW symbol in the OEM one. It's the little details that I love on this bike!Fingers crossed that headlight and the LED blinkers are retrofittable![]()
The headlight looks like it comes from the new R18 cruiser...wonder if this can be retrofitted already (might ask dealer next time I pop in)? Might require a CANBUS canceller given LED will draw different power from traditional headlight bulbs.Fingers crossed that headlight and the LED blinkers are retrofittable![]()
This is exactly what happens in Milan and in the whole Lombardy region! I have a 2014 Euro 3 and it won't be allowed to enter in Milan (Area B) starting October 2028 but I really don't care because it will be 14 years old and once it will be 20 years old I will apply for the historical registration (CRS) and use it with no limits until its natural end. Outside Milan resctrictions will apply mostly on winter months so it's not a real problem.Hi @Error Flynn, my only concern is the EU5 regulation. Our mayor in Rome is quite picky and tends to restrict circulation, only allowing vehicles running on the latest possible (with some exceptions up to now), so my fear is that sooner than I expected I might have some restrictions circulating in the city.
It is very unlikey the same engine under EU5 regulations will have more power than the EU3 or EU4 versions. It could be if they increase its size (as they did with the R18) or if they switch to liquid cooling (no way on the nineT). If you ride an EU4 after an EU3 nineT you'll feel the EU4 lacks something compared to the EU3. Not too much or something you'd worry about, but you feel the EU3 engine is better, more "ready", especially at low rpm. The same will be for the EU5.My only concern is that if they are making any changes in the engine, horsepower wise.
Hopefully it's just matter of headlight wire harness and headlight. The headlight looks like it comes from the new R18 cruiser...wonder if this can be retrofitted already (might ask dealer next time I pop in)? Might require a CANBUS canceller given LED will draw different power from traditional headlight bulbs.
