The Seat Bolt Thread

3789 Views 53 Replies 16 Participants Last post by  DucRider
We all know how fun and popular oil threads are, and it is time to freshen up the conversation with seat bolts.
Therefore I give you THE SEAT BOLT THREAD.
Here's a place we can gather and discuss seat bolts.
Here are just a few of the topics to think about.

  • Seat bolts
  • Seat bolt colors
  • Thread, count of seat bolts
  • Seat, bolt head styles
  • How you feel knowing you have a seat bolt
  • Shoes that match your seat bolt
  • What others think about your seat bolt
  • Torque values of your seat bolt
  • Seat bolt flavors
  • Seat bolts throughout history
  • Seat bolt pics (pg13 please)
  • Waterproof seat bolts
I welcome all thoughts and knowledge on this topic. Thank you for your support.

ATTENTION MODS.
Please do not punt any stuff that gets a little off topic here (unless it violates the rules of decorum for this site). We can have a mini stream of consciousness thread here so don't worry, the horse will find its way back to the barn eventually.

You nailed (sorry: bolted) it - looking foreward...
I wonder if there are pro & cons about using a seat bolt at all?

So what you're saying is we must unlearn seat bolts in order to learn seat bolts. The Tao of seat bolts?

Went pragmatic - tool-less, easy screwing & tight

Still trying to find one in option 719

I was formally trained as a seat bolt artist, and I guess it's high time to offer my talents to the world of Seat bolt consumers. I am willing to create personalized seat bolts. Hopefully it will reflect the personality of its user.

@Baloo wasn’t it you who just recently stated you want to fix the nut between the seat and the handlebar?

Quite true. I have just had an epiphany, and now I realize my true purpose in life.:. It is to provide the world with bespoke seat bolts. That not only do what the original seat bolt does but in a way that personifies it's user. Don't crush my dream bro.

WOW Mate. You could start an operation selling those fingers. It would be a very special firm one that offers to give the World the FINGER ! great idea sorry I did not consider it myself.

I'm sitting here laughing my butt off, more so because I know I can add fuel to the fire. Thus, I shall.

Well, that’d be nuts! And it would take some balls to start that.

Now that I think about it, @Baloo, wouldn’t that hurt quite a bit?
