We all know how fun and popular oil threads are, and it is time to freshen up the conversation with seat bolts.
Therefore I give you THE SEAT BOLT THREAD.

😛 Don't kick the baby. The mods already moved it to the appropriate location.
I just wanted to create a safe place for all of us to express our affinity for seat bolts.
I wonder why someone has not produced a carbon fiber seat bolt yet?
I would, but I am a seat bolt artist, not a seat bolt rocket surgeon.

So,… my seatbolt was replaced when i installed the fender from UnitGarage, which meant I had to carry an additional allenkey, so ordered a new longer torx stainless steel bolt (or screw???) so i can use the BMW provided key…

see even these thungs can be modified!

And aside from wiring access i dont need to be under the seat anyway…

@Norbi crazy temps. Close to 80f in norfolk va too. Up in tue valley for a few days. Back to norfolk Wednesday. Hot and rainy here

The seat bolt idea is brilliant. I see so many variations. One that faces up, one that holds extra gas or libations, so many different shapes to suit the various applications..... My mind is visualizing many ideas but I've already had a few posts deleted on this forum so I'm reticent to write it down.

I must must add that as an owner of an even more iconic bike, the 2022 Honda Monkey, we have similar seat bolt aspirations, conversations, conversions, etc. I’m looking to combine the two threads across the two forums.

Unlike you plebs with normal r nine t ,I ride a Racer . And as such only fully-synthetic bolts are good enough for me . I started with standard mild steel bolts , but i deserve the best . Not semi synthetic or long life , But proper full synthetic as then i can tell everyone at the coffee shop they are on my bike . Unfortunatly i havent got a Genuine BMW fully synthetic spanner to work the bolts loose or tight , but no matter ,i have Mottorad 24hr service .
