Hey all, very excited to announce that our Triple Clamp Clip-On setup is now available for pre-order, will be shipping later this month. Using 100% carbon bars and billet machined aluminum, our kit provides a perfect balance of form and function. Get that clip-on look and feel without breaking your back. Comes in any color you want, so long as it's black. ;) Check it out at dmoto.co

We're kind of on the fence about that one actually, people might want their controls in slightly different spots/angles, we're not quite sure yet. What would you want?
For me, I'd like them pre-drilled. I'm happy with angles that BMW chose stock as I imagine the majority of their customers are. Based on the new position your bars would sit I'd be happy with the angle you guys choose.
From other bar threads it seems most on here just try to replicate the position of the stock holes with templates which is a PIA.

The problem with pre-drilling these bars is that they are height-adjustable. As they are raised or lowered in the triple clamp, the angle of your hands relative to the bars is going to change somewhat. Pre-drilling would simply installation, but it might also limit the rider’s ability to fine-tune the controls for a perfect fit.

With pre-drilled factory handlebars, you can loosen the clamps and rotate the bars up or down to change the angle of the controls. I don’t know if these bars can be rotated.

I would vote for giving purchasers a choice of drilled or not drilled.

We were talking about this yesterday after seeing the responses in the thread here, I think (and I agree with you here) that we'll offer it as an option and just pick something very close to factory for those who want us to pre-drill it. It'll be a drop down option for those who want it. The nice thing is if you want to drill it yourself, the bars are very easy to drill, and even easier if you buy the LSL bar guide.

I'm also voting for pre-drilled.

Is the black anodized or powder coated? I've had some issues with black anodizing turning purple here in the SoCal sun
The easiest thing for us is to anodize, we've liked the finished but it changing color in the sun is not something we've known about! I'll look into what powder coating runs vs. anodizing and we'll make the decision from there. There would have to be some masking for powdercoating as it adds more material than anodizing does I imagine, but I'll have to look into the differences.

Excited for the Racer version
We have a Racer sitting in our shop for the next couple weeks (Courtesy of BMW Motorcycle SF!) that we'll be designing around. We figured there would be some interest for the Racer as well, but not as much as we've had in the last week! We'll have a prototype together in the next couple weeks for that guy.

Stock handlebar color option - Satin Silver finish available?
Something we also talked about! We can do a tumble and clear anodize, although we haven't totally decided how to handle it for a silver finish. Coming out of the machine, the triples need some de-burring which unfortunately often leads to "ruining" the perfect shiny aluminum. We always tumble our parts and bead blast them, that would work well with a clear anodize, a satin silver.

This is probably what we'll end up doing, giving you a choice of pre-drilled or not. The bars don't rotate. :)

Looking forward to Satin Silver Finish

Looking forward to the release of the stock finish for purchase.

@[email protected] and @[email protected], I got a question for you guys.

On your bike, you changed the levers and fluid tanks, and everything looks pretty tight.
Is doing these changes is required with the length of the bars or do the OEM tanks and levers fit?

I am very interested into it, and want to be sure, I won't have to any bad surprises.

Cheers

I'd also asked this question to Sal and he confirmed that everything will fit from stock, including the hose lengths staying the same.

He is correct! Everything will still fit well with the stock lines. Our lines are kind of tight because they're aftermarket lines, just slightly different.

Because the bars will be lower than stock, technically you'll have a little extra slack, but not enough that you'll have to worry about extra line maintenance/routing.

Also, sorry for the super long delays guys. We're having another very capable machinist shop and friend make these for us. Our machine is essentially tapped out on capacity right now with the uptick in tidy sales and in order to get these out in a *timely* fashion we needed to outsource! However everyone is busy this time of year it seems and we're looking at another couple weeks until we finally have these in hand.

As with any first production run, we had a few changes and improvements to make on his first part, but they look awesome. They're currently in production; once he's done we'll tumble, bead blast and anodize these. Almost there!

Thanks again for your support, we really appreciate it.

Sal
